Every time a ticket is drawn that is associated with a member with many tickets, all of his/her tickets would be removed from contention. If I had 500 tickets (I wish) and two of my numbers were drawn, would I be able to purchase two amps? No. So the number of tickets in the 'pool' will decrease rapidly each time a ticket is drawn belonging to someone holding many tickets.
(Of course I could be completely wrong.)
An initial batch of 90 stereo amplifier kits using (and including) P channel VFETs are being released now.
Around two months later a second batch of 90 using N channel VFETs will be released.
I'm unsure if my entry was to win one of 90 or one of 180 amps. I was a bit deflated by the number of noobs but I'm confident the right decisions were taken and I have nothing but gratutude to everyone involved in organising and designing the project.

We know nothing about algorithm that will be used to draw winners.
It is possible to get 90 winners using full tickets pool, providing that already drawn are just skipped if drawn again, till there are 90 distinct winners.
My estimate is just very rough approximation.

Your entry is for the second run as well, except you win in the first.
@Jason
Concerning the mail and blacklists, I did some quick checking and your domain is not listed. This wasn't extensive, but is usually enough to make a pos/neg determination.
As to tickets, are you factoring in purchases from the DIY store too? Seems fair to me, especially because I bought a lot there!

It seems more in keeping with the spirit of generosity that Mr Pass has fostered, if every member that was interested had one ticket, so there are even odds amongst all that entered.
I have just as much desire to win the chance to purchase one of these as anyone else. But as a parent of a young child, I don't have the opportunity to take the time to enter multiple times.
So a system of multiple tickets favors those who can spend the time to enter many times.
Of course, the world isn't so fair, but it seems more in keeping with this generous spirit to me.

Hi Jason,
I was in the list for "pending verification via Google Entry" . I do not see my name showing up in the list of verified entries. Could you confirm I am in. I believe I do meet all requirements
Thanks,
Robin
EDIT: I see you are validating the off site entries today! Maybe my question was too soon, apologies.
I even don't get the chance to fill in my name , did try severall times .
Not everybody has the time to sit infront a computer when it opens .

We have every reason to be excited but should keep our expectations at bay.
There are 1542 entries. About 1000 are newbies with just one ticket. Moderator Pano said that he alone had to approve 500 newbie posts and other moderators the same. Let’s assume there are 1000 single ticket entries.
About 300 are regular Pass Labs forum participants. Let’s assume that they have 100 tickets each on average. Rest are members that don’t post often in the Pass Labs forum section so let’s assume the have 15 tickets on average. So, there are about 35.000 tickets for the first lottery run. There are 90 amplifiers or 389 tickets per one kit.
Your chances are personal ticket number / 389. In example for me it is 13/389 = 0.033 or 3.3%. Not terrible but I don’t have high hopes.
Everyone having 400 tickets is almost guaranteed to win but, keep in mind that laws of probability provide that someone with just one ticket will win as well, while there could be that someone with 400 tickets will lose.
@tombo56
I believe that the calculation is more complex.
I believe that your calculation applies only to the lottery for the first amplifier. From the second lottery the numbers change because the one that has already been drawn is removed from the list and their respective scores.
Let's wait patiently for the final results.

@Jason -
You've been absolutely exceptional with your responses to questions and rants alike.
In my book you're a:
class act,
mensch,
gentleman and a scholar,
good egg,
gem,
model of morality,
and an all-'round heckuva guy!
Thank you for all the effort you've put into this, and moreover thank you for the way you represent all that's good about this most-generous offering.

While this was obviously so much work (I wasn’t involved) it is also the “fun part” for Jason and Nelson. Giving something to others esp. surprising them, is usually a great feeling! And this group deserves some good surprises, I’ve met a lot of you at Burning Amp, and I can’t say enough about what a sincere, considerate, and enthusiastic group the vast majority of you are!

Regardless of who qualifies and who doesn't, and whether or not I my name is picked, I just wanted to echo others sentiments and applaud and thank Jason for how smoothly the entry process went yesterday. Not an easy task, took a lot of work and preparation. Thanks again, not just for this one lottery event, but for all you do for this community.

My sentiments exactly!
Decided not to throw my hat into the ring. I already have a SissySIT and some THF51S VFETs sitting on the sidelines waiting to go into something.
I have have to say that I was very tempted. It was like having staving off a craving for something you're addicted too.
Also, it is very exciting and can't wait to see who are the lucky picks.
Thanks for the great support for this from NP, MJ, 6L6, Jason, and others. It is a great community.
