Cardone, what is the output Z of your tube preamp and what is the input Z of the TPA3255? What is the Maximum output of your tube preamp? What are your sources. You have to know those before you can make a decision.
Normaly rule of thumb, input Z should be 10x output Z. If your tube preamp has an output Z of 1K then a 10K pot would be good choice.
Example, My DAC puts out 2 Volts, my tuner 250millivolts, my minidsp, if used, puts out 900millivolts. My preamp uses a Lme49600 as an output buffer, it can easily drive a 1k volume control or speakers directly (250 ma max) my preamp has a gain of 12db so it can drive almost any amplifier from any source to full output if required.

I got my amplifier from Vitaly. It was very interesting to compare it with what I had in stock - Icepower 1200as2 and 50ASX2 in bridging and some tweaks.
The main difference between Vitaly's amp is how much freer it is and less schematically it delivers music. For me personally, it is essential to make a choice in this context of comparison.

The amplifier stayed with me for only 24 hours. Initially it was planned for a small project, which I did not do for myself.
I am sure that after a sufficient hour of burning, its sound signature will only improve itself. But even this short time was enough to form a positive impression in comparison.

the amplifier was originally intended specifically for this speaker. Its power is convincing.

Ok, I hope this is not your preamp or there is a mistake in the frequency response. According to this web site the bass is down -10db at 20hz and -3db at 50hz

The output Z might be 600 Ohms. You can use a 10K ohm volume pot between your preamp and the poweramp. There are many affordable stepped volume pots on Ebay. I have bought several for around $20. I have one that has failed after using it every day for 5 years. The contacts on the wiper failed on one channel and it was not repairable.
One of the best benefits of stepped volume pots is the nearly perfect channel balance.

Hello everybody, I know we waited a long time for the amps and mine was supposed to go out this week. I guess that it will be sent within days. However, I had to buy an extra amp this week due to an issue and hence I am happy to "sell" my amp to someone on the waiting list. I have on order a fully assembled amp. If Vitaly is OK, the buyer can pay me the same amount I paid him and get sent the amp.

Hi Cardone! I tried this little tube preamp ...
I deleted it .... I thought it would sublimate the sound ...
It adds distortion!
Well I put it back in its box!
Too much loss of detail. Really the tubes have killed the performance of my dac.
With an AKM dac, the sound is just perfect! (I tried dac saber ... the sound tired me in the high of the spectrum) Have a nice day !!!
