5 years ago, and about 2:00 a.m., the manager of "The 21 Club" came over to our group and said "You fellas have to go home, you can't sleep here".
It was after the annual "Friendly Sons of St. Patrick" Dinner and Annual Meeting at the NY Sheraton.

2017 Armentia y Madrazo Crianza | Vivino
For my taste it is very good, balanced, without pungent odors, with good acidity. So far this is the best temperamillo I have tried.
I am experimenting with my company's website design and enjoying the chicken liver and onion I cooked. And cheese with Uzbek lavash. Good job I have)

They say that pigs don't know anything about oranges. I wonder if they were given oranges or not, but they were told?
Vodquila.

Mixing whisky and tequila - yuk. Drink one or the other. I have seen quite a loot of Japanese malt whiskys for sale in France and finally I decided to buy one before Christmas.
It was excellent, like one of the best Spey malts. An explosion of spice and fruit immediately and a wonderful waterfall of heat sliding down the throat. The Japanese have been winning the best whisky title for years and now I know why.
GUNFU there are so many excellent wines in Spain. I cannot understand why red Riojas are so popular, cant' stand the stuff. Completely different and wonderful to drink alone or with white meats or fish are white Riojas. Just over the mountains from Madrid is the Segovia region. The Sauvigon Blanc is nothing like the French version, it's tropical fruits but not sweet or sickly. South of Sevilla are some whites that are delicate best drunk with tapas of Serrano ham.
The tapas of southern Spain are nothing like those of NW Spain. If you ever visit southern Galicia the Roman town of Orense has an excellent barrio famous for two things excellent wine bars and discrete 'ladies of the night', The first I know well, wonderful Galician wines and superb tapas or pinchos, the second I can't personally vouch for.

Come on, there are excellent red Riojas. Under 20€, something like the Lan Gran Reserva is rather enjoyable.
A bit early for alcohol though, so I'm currently drinking some loose leaf pu-erh. Gotta love the earthiness.

It's exactly the gran reservas that I think are awful. I tried many when I lived in Spain and never found one I liked. You don't mention the whites, have you never tried them, I never found one I didn't like.
I might have but I've got no clear memories of it. I'm usually way less attracted towards whites. Except maybe for some Burgundy ones but the prices have skyrocketed in the last decade. 🙁
Btw, any suggestion on Saint Chinian, as you mentioned it in the food thread ? What is distributed around here is usually pretty awful and I'd like to give it a fair try.

You must try more white wines - your missing out. Being Belgian your more open minded about food and drink than many people in Europe. Try some of the white Riojas - you will not be disappointed.
Have you ever tried Gros Manseng, not the sweet ones. It's a wonderful mix of fruit and dry (think a good French Sauvignon Blanc).
The prices you pay are far more than I pay now for wine. When the young Oz and Kiwi flying wine makers came to France about 35 years ago they convinced the growers of vin ordinaire wine to try their methods. The result is that the quality of vin ordinaire in France soared. The St.Chinian I buy from Intermarche @ €3.69 (it used to be 20 centime cheaper) is so good it simply isn't worth paying a lot more. A good Gros Manseng wil be about €10. The best Malbec (the Black wine of France, Middle Ages) I found was €8.95. It was deep, rich and spicy, sadly I lost the name of the chateau (bugger it). Up until then I had bought Argentinian versions that used new oak barrels but it just didn't compare with this Malbec. I have been very disappointed in all the Cahors I have tried since.
I have always said that Belgians make the best coffee in Europe - how can you compare the milky over priced rubbish that is Starbucks with the wonderful strong Belgian coffee that is almost always served with special coffee biscuits. If your ever in France look for anywhere that serves Cafe Richard on a par with Belgian made coffee.

My friends and I tried many wines from different countries. I already wrote about white Spanish wines. I like verdejo from rueda from some manufacturers. I would not say that Spanish wines are popular among the population in Russia. The shops have a very large selection of wines from other countries.GUNFU there are so many excellent wines in Spain. Tempramilje is a very interesting variety, for my taste, all producers in Spain produce a variety of wines from this variety. Tried it yesterday for comparison 2014 2014 Armentia y Madrazo Crianza | Vivino. This wine has a magical smell and taste, it has pleasant qualities, and not the coarse acidity, like some wines with lemon acidity.
The wine is very well preserved.
One bottle turned out to be the 2012 harvest.
Without decantation, the taste is not very good, acidity and freshness were not enough. I put the bottle on the windowsill in a draft. It's not very cold outside now, about zero degrees Celsius. An hour later, the wine acquired a sourness like a prune, on the palate, bitter chocolate, prunes, port, noble taste. And this is just a tempramilja, underestimated by the people.

I believe bourbons are delicious. But I haven't been drinking for 12 years, anything stronger than 17% alcohol.
Oh, that looks interesting.
I am drinking Sierra Nevada Pale ale and planting my garden. 1 30' row of yellow onions, 1 30' row of white onions and 12 Broccoli sets in the ground.
Frost coming in a week, so cold hardy plants only so far.

I am having a clam pint after the afternoon doggie walk and it is tasting good enough to perhaps invite her sister over for another. Cheers.
I am drinking the koolaid. Woke, PC .............
Gagging quite a bit as it goes down.
A rusty nail helps a ton.
