For some unknown reason, do not ask why, I think Tom could find a way to put even deeper and better bass in a compact home-friendly box, while he could keep the phenomenal phase response.

I do not know how it is done this time, but usually, they are using DSP mostly for the crossover region, at least in the case of my Studio 2 I do not hear any or realize any serious DSP mumbo-jumbo.

So it's a 4-way, with the mid & tweeter using a passive xover between them, sharing a common amp channel. Three amp channels active.

What's most interesting to me are the 8" drivers that are being used down to 45Hz.
And the 15"s from only 45Hz down....to below 20Hz.

Anybody seen drivers that would seem to fit that usage?

I totally get the two opposed sub drivers. That's the only way to fly with subs anymore for me.

Overall, i'd label it a synergy horn on a push-push sub, optimized for in-home use and low end extension.
And moving into today's processing advantages...yea! about time lol

That's a good point about Covid maybe moving DSL towards expanding into the home market.

Although i wonder how many stadiums, churches, halls, etc have used the downtime to upgrade installations....if maybe that has kept the large scale install market going ...who knows (other than DSL haha)


Since all the directivity will be coming from the medium-small synergy horn, I'm guessing the upper bass is a let go, along with the lower bass.

I would be curious too to hear what is actually new . so far its a DSP controlled sm60f like horn on a subwoofer .
I would like to know what amps are being used and also if there is some ADA conversion involved or a Digital input option to avoid double conversion.
I personally think the home market likes to play with amps and/or dacs and does not like to get these dictated .
does anyone want to guess how much they are going to charge for that ?

I have no idea.

I really hope it will not cost the same as one of the competitors: Meyer Bluehorn, which is roughly 50 000 Euro retail each, so 100k a pair.

The Hyperion (on paper at least) seems better in every way except the max SPL, which makes sense as it is for home entertainment not for studios like the Meyer.

From a high-end audio point of view, a Kii THREE BXT System is a kind of competition that has a 35 000 Euro retail price for a pair. So I would not be surprised if the price would be somewhere close to this price either a bit higher or a bit lower. Which would make it an extremely good deal, I think. My estimation is somewhere around 30-35 000 Euro for a pair (retail price).

I am pleased that we finally get to see a Danley speaker for home use - and probably also for studie monitoring!

It seems like it is a (semi) active SM60F with DSP and subs - or have I missed something regarding the top section?

Kii or Dutch and Dutch and few others are quite successful with the digitally active, DSP'd speaker concept it seems.

for sure, i would guess all speakers in the future will be active in some form or another, i can not think kids of today will be buying none-active speaker when buying their future speakers
