Aleph J
So after about 5 years the PCBs lying around, i got around to building them up
and finally finished building the Aleph J and F5. Currently the Aleph J is installed in the case. After testing I will install the F5 and compare.
I have designed the housing in CAD. Not 100% quite satisfied with the CNC work but still looks good.
The housing still needs to be anodized black, but i need to find someone here who does that for me.
At the end you can see the picture of the CAD.

Wow - that one is quite nice. Lot's of great work being shared! Congrats on a nice execution!
fresher,
That's a nice custom chassis, and a well executed build you got there. Do share pics once you've got the anodizing done.
sebtdi,
You have a neat built too! I can't tell for sure from the pics - is that a 3U chassis?
Congratulations to both of on your successful projects! Enjoy! 🙂

Aleph J
I'm really happy to have completed my Aleph J, it wasn't easy for me to put all caps, boards and trafos, but at the end I found a solution. After two weeks listening I definitely love this amp.

F6 and Nutube B1 Build
My F6 and Korg Nutube B1 build. Have about 16 hours burn in. No issues. Sounds wonderful. Thanks to Nelson Pass for his circuits and support of the DIY community. Also thanks to 6L6 for the build guides and the DIY Audio Store. They made it easy.

Very nice looking builds, thanks for sharing. I'll look forward to your listening comments on how the two components work together.
Can you also point to some details on the front panel on-off switch? I'm in the final stages of building an Aleph J and am trying to work out how to include a functional, simple front panel on-off switch, like you've done here.

The front panel switch is a Schurter part no. 1241.6821.1120000 Digikey part no. 486-1436-ND. It's rated at 12 A 250V. It's an expensive switch because it's made in Switzerland. Around $21. It requires a 19 mm hole. I had a 3/4" step drill so that's what I used for the hole. The problem with that 10 mm thick front panel is there aren't very many panel mount switches made for that panel thickness unless clearance is milled from the back which I didn't have the capability to do at home. The switch works very nicely. There are some similar looking switches from China that are much cheaper.
Thanks for the quick response and helpful details. I'm happy to pay $21 given that it's been proven to work for these amps. That's the last piece of the puzzle for completing my Aleph J.
Much appreciated!

bergy, you fit the signal circuit in among those caps???
no, they are on the PSU

I recently used one of these, too. They're really nice, so I've ordered a couple more for another project.

I saw plenty that looked similar, but oddly I couldn't find one that was double pole, like this one is. Since I wanted to switch live and neutral, I went with the Schurter, and am not sorry. Strongly recommended.

Very nice and inspiring!

BWC54. I just built the F6 and the B1 Korg Nutube as well. I haven't heard anything else but I am very impressed with the sound of these two units together so far.
