TPA3255 - all about DIY, Discussion, Design etc

С не симметричным/не балансным входом, чип ковыляет на одной ноге! Ты этого не заметил? Там так колбасят помехи и т.п. при не балансном включении.
With an unbalanced / unbalanced input, the chip waddles on one leg! Didn't you notice that? There are so many interference, etc. when not balanced.

Sorry to interrupt, I've had a hiatus of about a year in my hobby projects / time to read up on forums because of Covid-19, quarantine in the family, life, work and all that jazz.. :-/

I've just ordered from 3E Audio the 1x480W TPA3255, 2x260W TPA3255, and the DSP ADAU1701 board - for fun.

I'll use a Connex SMPS 600 RS to power all of this.

This all combined should power a single 3-way speaker, with the DSP doing the crossover.

If I ever get this speaker / amp / dsp combo to work out right, I'll of course build it's brother to make a stereo pair.

Does this sound okay to you guys or can you shoot holes in my approach right now already..?

This one looks like it might be OK: TPA3255 2x260W 2Ch Class D Audio Amplifier|Amplifier| - AliExpress

Dani,

kindly take note about the ON & OFF POP sounds are there or not also.
Awaiting your review & findings! Thanks in advance

Hi amigos,

Got the new TPA3255 and I will review it later (waiting for my new case) but I can already share some pictures and made an 1 hour test ! sounds Amazing out of the box :) The stock module is fully equiped with Nichicon caps, dead silence no POP when switching ON / OFF, ultra compact size and sounds really better with these minor updates :

For TPA3255 module : Remove 2X Nichicon VZ serie 2200UF/63V > Install 2X Nichicon 4700UF KW serie (low ESR Audio grade)

For LLC SMPS PSU : Remove Output Caps 2X Nichicon PM serie 50V/1800UF > Install 2X Nichicon 2200UF KW serie (Audio grade)

OP amps : Remove NES5532 Op amps > Install Genuine OPA1656 DIP8 socket (mouser)

Will let you know more when the amplifier is going to be fully assembled )

Stock version

Which LLC SMPS PSU ?

Hi,

I've been testing 3 PSU :

1) 350W LLC PSU (600W peak) 48V / 7.2A with Nichicon KW Audio grade Output caps

2) LLC 300W PSU (600 Peak) 35V / 8.5A with stock caps

3) AudioFX SMPS Brick 36V / 6.5A + 24V/ 6A

Me feeling : best results with Option 1, everything is cleaner, no disturbances, no noise and dead silence between tracks. ( I have some high end floor speakers 93DB / 100W RMS, 2.5 way speakers with Ribbon tweeters). Option 2 works fine too but a I can hear a slight noise when I glue my ears towards the speakers @more than 1m it is almost imperceptible, the same with Option 3.
NB : I will update output caps on Option 2 to check anyway )

The main idea of this project is to get a great TPA3255 with a nice price that fits into a compact 131*249*55mm case )
