The New Hypex Fusion Plate amps

Downward slope from 2KHz up on analog in F503

Hi, quick update on the situation in case someone is wondering...I haven´t had the time to redo the measurements I alluded in my last posts here or get an USB/Spdif converter.

However, I remembered something I had read somewhere long ago and contacted Hypex, regarding the measurements, and they confirmed it: the analog gain on the tweeter channel is exactly 6 db lower than on the other channels, for noise reasons ( as tweeters tendo to me more sensitive). That matches the difference I was getting comparing measurements in REW through the Fusions analog in vs Conventional amp (my loudspeakers are passive with a midrange to tweeter crossiover at 2500Hz). Unfortunately that isn´t explicit on the HFD.

Does anyone here know if using SPDIF in the situation is the same, i.e, the flat 0 db settings in all channels and filters result in an output that is 6 db down on the tweeter channel? If so, what is the best strategy, gain structure-wise/ to match levels ( minus 6 db on the other channels, or plus 6 on the tweeters, or split the difference..) and where to apply it ( gain on channels, apply a low pass, or high pass in the filters, or on the pre EQ..? )

Also, they have a new firmware 1,42 for the FA503 that doesn´t come bundled in the HFD download package right now, but you can download it here as they informed me... Hypex Electronics B.V..

Still have same problem. Somehow it was working good for 1-2 days when adjusted as I say before but now no way to properly start it.
Even if I start first slave mode and volume is locked when started the amp going mute. When change preset by remote went out of mute but stay on -96level.
If anybody know please some advice.

Hi, have you tried to contact Hypex? They were helpfull and quick too..
It might be a software bug...My modules suddendly went crazy when changing presets, jumbled the sound and sometimes the slave would loose output and synchronization, and finnaly my mid channel on the master wnt amiss, wouldn‘t show in configuration....They sent me a patch file, uploaded it and been workin with no problems since.
Also check your particular amp page and see if there is a newer than what you have installed firmware version available there, as it happened to me...Hope that can help.

Good evening all!

I’m having an issue using The FA123 with a Bluesound Vault 2 and streaming music from Qobuz. I have found that when playing hi-res music files the sound is fine from the master unit but all jumpy and broken from the slave unit. Has any else experienced this issue?

The Bluesound is connected to the master unit via optical, could this be an issue with the fusion dac not being able to handle the MQA hi-res files?

Thanks in advance.

I would like to calibrate my speakers for the new listening room. For this purpose, I plan to make near-field measurements of the individual drivers. To do this, I want to disconnect the two drivers from the Hypex 253 that I don't need at that time. Can I do this safely or will I endanger the stability of the amplifier and the life of the drivers?

You don't need to disconnect the unused driver(s) for measurements. There is a mute button for each amp channel in the filter design.
But if you really want to disconnect them, watch out the bare wire ends.

Alternatively you can also put a gain of -96dB for the unused channels in HFD to mute them until you put in a different gain.

Thank you
