Is TRIPATH Class "T" Outdated Performance - Or Not?

T2024 WELL MODDED(TRENDS ,CAROT) IS JUST EPIC.
AETHERIAL IS THE CHARACTER.NEEDS 95DB 4OHM LOADS AND IS ON PAR OR BETTER WITH 20000 EURO MONSTERS.HAVING MORE THAN 20 AMPS LAST 15 YEARS EVEN THE SYMPHONIC LINE RG 10MK4 OR COPLAND CTA405 ARE ON PAR,NOT BETTER.

THE CHARACTER OF 2024 IS UNIQUE ,MORE RESOLVING AND TRANSPARENT AND FAST AND NERVOUS THAN 2022 2020 3020 TDA...(SEE TEMPLE AUDIO).NOT HEAVY IMPACT BUT TRANSPARENT AS A 300 B BUT WITH TIGHT BASS AND DETAIL THAT BLOWS AWAY.

Compared a diy Tripath TA2022 to the Audiophonics HPA S400ET Purifi amplifier. They are simular in sound, very detailed, tight grip on the bass, no outright big differences. To me without level checking, I would not like to guess.

However, the Tripath seemed to be able to play louder without distorting and a slightly more realistic sound seemed to be produced. As it was no proper ABX, my mind could have played tricks with me.

If the Purifi measures far better then there's no way they can possibly sound similar at all. Unless the TA2022 is beyond some audible threshold or your hearing is so far gone that it doesn't mater what you listen to :)

Measurements will indicate any color or imperfection in a device. There's nothing more that can be experienced beyond what can be measured.

I'm going to go lock all the doors and climb in to my bunker now :flame::umbrella:

2 of my friends and I had both commercial complete amps and DIY board amps in different variations (4-5). They all blew up within in a year in one way or the other so that adventure is over for all of us I'd say. Sound was nice, maybe a bit somehow "enhanced" or beautified. My Nc400 felt more transparent so no big loss.

Here is the measurement of Purifi 1ET400A Amplifier and I dont think in my dreams that my TA2022 is near this in sound but TA2022 sounds good and better then any TA2020.
And severel Tripath 2020 has also broke for me but this one who my daughter had for several years still works before she jumped on the 2.1 computer system, yes I know I failed as an father :), still working good in an old Marantz PM-30 whitch sounded flat and boring but had +-32v I could steel, sounds amazing in the middle band but little bass shy.
Purifi speakers I have but hope to get their amp also when I can afford.

This the DIY version of Audiophonics @ 89 euros. For the price, it is a bargain !

AUDIOPHONICS TA2022 V4 Module Amplificateur TRIPATH 2x90Watts - Audiophonics

It's indeed a bargain.
But forget the transformer ... it's crap.

The pcb looks good with decent components.
If you build it like mine it's gonna cost you some really $$

Used a different linear power supply, emi/rfi filtering, softstart and dc-blocker.
Finished it with good connectors.
It's 'sounds' really good, compared it with way more expensive amplifiers and it's really holding up with amps which costs 8x my amp.

For the ones who want to build this ... look out how to connect the XLR wiring they displayed it wrong on their site !!!
I informed Audiophonics about this and they changed it only for the one with the included transformer.
The one without the included transformer the XLR connection is right.
Be aware if you want to use XLR ... they are out of phase (+ / -) on one XLR connector.
