Follow-up on Apex A9 amplifier
Dear all,
Here is a short (and probably final) follow-up on my posts # 12984 and 12986 in this enormous thread. I have now put my homemade Apex Audio A9 amplifier PC boards with power supply in a (recycled) cabinet (19", steel). The power supply lines run at ± 37V. I have not modified mr. Slavkovic's schematic in any way, with a reduction of the series resistors for the Z15 zeners as the only exception (see post 12984). The amp really sounds great, it sings! (as is said on the Russian Komitart site). However, I disagree with one statement made by our Russian friends - they mention that quiescent current through the power MOSFets should be set to 15 mA. In my ears, this is not correct, Iq should be set to 30 mA or a bit higher (as was also said by Mr Slavkovic). Purity of the sound is much better at the higher quiescent current, and the heatsinks don't even become lukewarm. Anyhow, this project can be strongly recommended.
My amp is a dual mono setup (each channel has its own toroid power transformer and power supply) although both channels are combined in a single cabinet. Imaging is very good.
Best regards,

I checked and I actually used a modified version of the above layout. I really just simplified a little as Alex had designed it with two different sets of holes for the resistors and caps. I removed the extra holes to make it easier to etch and drill. I am adding those file here.
These are also for toner transfer. I you need photo sense files let me know.
Hello ALL,
I am planning to build a passive line level crossover which will be coupled with FH9HV amp. For the crossover built, I need to know the input impedance of this amplifier. Can someone help me please regarding this matter??

There is a pdf layout here if you know how to etch your own boards:

No idea if it works or not.

Oh!, i forgot to explicitly mention that pcbs are free. only shipping and handling of INR 200. within India only.
thanksi make booth. my ax 14 more powerfull but bass is less than 3886.
but any difference in midrange or high range?
quality and fidelity of sound is the same?
thanks i build circuit but there is a problem
without input signal and no speaker connected and no heatsink and just +/-45v supply i adjust 0.33ohm resistor voltage about 10mv but it begin rising continuously and go over 20mv and 2sc5200/2sa1943 become warm and if i didn't disconnet psu become hot.
is that normal or something is wrong in circuit?
