@twocents sorry for that but if you look carefully the end of the port is 16mm but the beginning is 38mm...;)

Hi Pugwash,

You are right I gone all over the history of this thread and realise the mistake, in few word what now is right is the TABAQ UPDATE 2 that is dated at the end of page 4 "March 3rd 2017", in this update you have two models the first with the shorter port and the second on page 4 the modification of the Tabaq Original, so the 790mm are the right one, here all the history on the forum so you can also check by yourself:

#1364 Robskillz point out the problem

#1366 Bjorn confirm the mistake

#1369 Ref.R2 is accepted as the right design

#1686 Bjorn reconfirm

#2018 Bjorn post the TABAQ UPDATE 2 drawing

Now as Luigiman suggest pick your driver and see then what is the most suitable Tabaq for it.......all the best
What about the folded with 14.4 width? What are the correct dimensions? Or is it correct?

The driver will work very fine in standard TABAQ design. Which has been reported by several builders :D

You might reduce the stuffing from 100 gram to 80 gram. However, I would stick to the 100 gram :)

Hi
Bjørn

Thank you Bjorn, wowww I am very happy the sim looks very good now I know why this driver sound so good, problem is my wife got the Tabaq with 4FE32 and I cannot get them back, she love them so much so I have to do one other for myself or maybe use the Peerless P830987 that I know is one of yours top list...will see....thanks again...all the best

Hi
Bjørn
Thank you very much for this sim, it is much appreciated. Your post #2571 is also very relevant here. I wonder (before I go and update my dxf files, again) - would there still be any benefit in increasing the cross-sectional area a little? The bottom end of the sim looks pretty good to me, but I am no expert here?

Also Bjørn, on behalf of myself and the other members here - thank you for still being involved, willing to sim new drivers, encourage and give advice. This thread has been going for almost 14 years now! And still going very strong. :c_flag:

I have Visaton FRS8M. That means my TABAQ should be with the internal lenght of 780mm + 57mm (original 90mm port)? And driver position should be 200 mm from the top (original 260mm)?
The Visaton FRS8M is a 3.3” driver with Fs 125Hz and a Qts of 0.49, so should work in the updated enclosure for 3” drivers – 30in + 3.8in (762mm + 97mm port). Driver centre 203mm from the top.

But, I thought you have already made TABAQs with FRS8M drivers earlier in March? Which dimensions did you use? And you had trouble with weird interactions – could you find and solve the problem?

I did two types of TABAQ. The one in the March was with two drivers in one enclosure. That was done by using original scheme of TABAQ (780 + 90 mm) provided in the audioexpress website. Enclosure had cross section area scaled up to 2 times. That was 258cm2 and vent 32cm2 with a lenght of 90 mm. Hornresp calculated that FS was around 53-57 (don't remember exact number) hz with around of 100g stuffing. I didn't manage to overcome those interactions. Even when using EQ you still could hear strange peaks on some songs (mostly in higher frequencies), which on the other system was not present.
However two weeks ago I made Folded TABAQ with the same original scheme provided in the audioexpress website (just the lenght of the port was reduced to 70 mm). They sound way better there was no problem with those weird peaks. After some EQ they sound much better! However for me it still lack low frequences. But my room is around ~20m2 and has a weird ceiling. Even the 8" inch subwoofer doesn't make a lot of low frequencies when I put it in the same place where the TABAQs are.
