The county I live in (Washington TN) went from 1 case to 9 cases in 6 days.
The US is now poised to pass Italy and possibly China in cases by this weekend.
The weather is beautiful and normally I would ride my bicycle on the local "Tweetsy Trail" after work.
However, I am fearful I would pass someone with the virus and end up getting infected. Maybe I will ride on the street again. It might be safer.

Worldwide the confirmed number of cases has doubled to over 500,000 in six days.
Confirmed case ratio to deaths is low so far for the US, at about 1.4%
Compare that to Italy where that ratio now stands at 10% That is what seems to happen as the medial infrastructure becomes overwhelmed. Hard to make assumptions, so here's a link to the data

My mouth dropped open when I saw that this morning. It does pander to both his base and the more widespread belief in American exceptionalism that goes wider than his base. But still 180 deg from every president that I can think of.
@ thegimp When I drove upvalley a few days ago I was amazed and disheartened seeing the bike trail FILLED with riders not keeping adequate distance. I think you are wise to be cautious.
Napa went from 1 to 5 confirmed cases in about 2 days. That is even though getting tested has been very difficult due to the scarcity of test kits, even though they were supposed to deliver "millions" of kits last week!

Problem is, I suspect a lot of those kids are from other areas. So they'll infect each other at the beach and then spread it to wherever they came from when they return.

Down there in the 'Land Of The Way Too Free' they're spreading this thing like peanut butter thinking the rest of the world is gonna follow suit. I've got news for their leader...up here authorities are exercising diligence using the data available to all. People here are complying with the prospect of being arrested, not shooed away. There's plenty of hind sight to go by already. The bygone days of US global leadership is just that, face it. It's never coming back, they blew it. They let that moron out of his cage only to discover he's a monster. Hindsight does indeed show the leadership role the US played right up until...you guessed it.
