As you all have seen, car manufacturers do not care too much about the appearance of the bodywork in the hidden parts in general view. That is, interior of the engine, floor, interior of the trunk and fenders, etc.

So why should I waste time on an impeccable termination for something that won't be seen ? :D

Some new screw of the legs was suporposed with a previous one. The solution is easy, you take it out, place a dowell with a tail, cut it out and that's it.

The furniture had to be turned upside down to work, so it was essential to secure the marble block. A piece of wood and a wedge makes it very simple.

Well, some cars do come with engine covers and a subwoofer in the trunk. My old 2000 Toyota Solara SEV6 has a cover over the emission system.

After searching for the Solara's pic, I found my ex-2001 F150 Supercrew 5.4L engine cover too!

The base is finished and I have placed protectors on the legs. As I will have to paint with an outdoor spray, manipulating this furniture from now on will surely damage the plush.
So I have prepared a "bed" with wheels. :)
Only I will have to ask for help to lift the beast and support it on it ...

There is no rain forecast in the next few days around here, :umbrella: so I got help to mount the cabinet on the platform, and tomorrow I will apply the spray paint.
I do not put it on the weight scale of personal use of the bathroom .... but this is very heavy !
80 kg? I think that is the approximate weight, and the speaker is missing ....:D

Finally there was rain, so I could apply a single coat of black.
Is it that the satellites do not work well or the climatic changes are so sudden that they do not give time to correct the forecasts ?

The next step is two hands on the entire front of semi-matt varnish, I do not like too much gloss ....
White is also semi matt, it was applied by brush.

The cosmetic process of one of the cabinets is already finished.

I will place the speaker and make it work in the corner that you can see in one of the photos.

Then I will continue with the remaining subwoofer and only there will I know if more power is needed, DSP, stereo subwoofers, etc. (All that would come along with the purchase of the Bheringer NX3000D)

There will be no measurements, microphones, REW, EQ of the room with MiniDsp, etc. Everything will be evaluated with my ears. They are not " golden ears ", but they have a lot of experience,
I trust them ! :)

The other speakers (DtqwtII) seem pygmy compared to these .....

The final finish was applied with a roller, they were two layers of semi-matt varnish on all surfaces, not only on wood. Black and white acquire a very pleasant hue.

absolutely beautiful work to transform so much from their humble beginnings

Hi Freddi, thanks!
It is as you say, the beginnings were humble and without major pretensions.
But I have been assimilating knowledge and I have had valuable help from you and many others. So everything went from minor to major, learning and time and money invested.

It would have been much easier (and economical) to buy one or two subwoofers of some "recognized" brand, but every minute invested has been a very entertaining "hobby" for me, because I am one of those who have "ants in the ***"
Regards, friend:)

One of the two "corner" subwoofers is finished and in operation.
I fed it with 156 Watts Rms Class AB with 8 Ohms, 0.1% THD
When you connect the second cabinet in parallel, it will be 252 Watts Rms 4 ohms <1.0 THD
Without applying bass boost.

All expectations are widely met ! :)
The basses are very deep (20 hertz) but without the effect of "room load", which I had read is a characteristic of sealed cabinets. Here there is no "one box resonating inside another box". There is no "eave" effect either in DTQWTII or in this sealed cabinet.
The phase control was reversed, (180 degree offset) so that the Eminence Delta Lite 2510 II speakers of the Troels cabinets work simultaneously with the Eminence Delta Pro18A and do not override.
I know that many consider that in sub frequencies there is no possibility of perceiving different "colorations" due to the different diaphragm materials (P: E PVC vs. paper). I don't know if that statement is real, but I notice a very homogeneous low frequency sound. Very happy.

You can see in the last photo my previous configuration of subwoofer (two) of near field, now there is only one (I will finish the other one) but they have much more admissible power in the speakers, and although I lose "the back wave" of a BR of 80 liters, the gain of the corner, (4 Pi) the large SD of a speaker of 18 "and almost double the volume of the cabinet, (almost 150 liters estimated with the filling) far exceed the above.
I do not find "null" in different parts of the room, I attribute that to the irregular forms of it added to what has been said above about the "load" of the cabinets sealed with the room.
So (never say never) I will not change the Dayton board amplifier for the Bheringer with DSP, only if it is audible to go from 0.1% to <1.0% THD in the next step.
Soon I will expand on the musical material I used to evaluate and more details about the sound.

The sound of the DAC Oppo is really very good, the EssES9038ProSabre chip is excellent, so I looked first of all for organ music. I already mentioned that the subwoofer drops to 20 Hz, but in F6, so I selected the amplifier crossing at 50 Hz approx. (There are no marks of the crossover frequencies on the selector knob, the minimum is 40 Hz and the maximum 180 Hz) And the gain knob (volume) raises the smooth characteristic slope of sealed cabinets to F3 or perhaps less, I already mentioned There are no measurements here. Just good ear. Sorry for the lack of modesty here, but it's been years that I've been listening to sound systems of good caliber. And yes, there are frequencies below 20 Hz, the vibration of them on my listening chair is perfectly felt. And I have the subwoofer working in the far field now!
So I searched Spot..y, and chose this version of the famous Tocatta and Fugue de Bach. Again, very happy.
Of course, I will soon hear the cannons of the 1814 symphony as well.

that's a great report on the quality of a proper sealed box subwoofer

here's 3 different interpretations and tempo of BWV 582 on pedal harpsichord - does the subwoofer enhance the ambiance a lot?

Thanks again freddi
I hope you have understood the rudimentary summary I made, because the more detailed I want to be, the more complicated the translations with GT.
Thanks for the attachments, they are very good, it hurts that I can not translate the article of one of them from YT, because I can not copy and paste as I do with PDF ...

And yes!, The environment changes for good with subwoofers, I had already experienced that before with the vintage JBL, but this is something else.
I confirm everything I have read, about dry bass and fast but deep at the same time, in sealed cabinets.
I think that for reasons of space a sub-sealed of these dimensions is not very common, but the use of the corners is very beneficial, I encourage them to do so, with a better transducer perhaps, a prism occupies less space than a parallelepiped and aesthetically Integrates the environment better.

It is still to experience the addition of the capacitor in series ..... but I do not want to skip steps, first I must finish the other cabinet.

Another of the tests I wanted to do as soon as the work was finished, is about this music.
I had the opportunity to attend a live concert of these guys, I even talked to them.
The girl with the female voice cleared my doubts about topic 3,
Na Bolshom Karetny, I thought it was Russian, and it is, but Russian-Romaní (gypsies).

Romani language - Wikipedia

I loved the show, bought the promotional CD and listened to it that same night. But, the vintage JBL faltered on the strong and repetitive drum bass, the voice coils were bottoming out, so now I was very intrigued with the corner subwoofer!
Wow, perfect! I cannot know visually if Xmax (6.7 mm) is exceeded, and if it does, it does not exceed Xmech (15 mm), I do not hear any distortion and at a very high volume.

El Ventanal | Orquesta Volatil

El ventanal (The window ) is very good too!
