Group buy: TPA3251_TPA3255 Amplifier board and ADAU1701 DSP Pre-Amp board

I am having noise issues with my dsp board. It is setup with a modified version of 3e's sigmastudio, using single ended (+ and gnd) to an chipamp. Constant clicking noises, but much louder/different noise under BT playback. Also mounted an antenna and played around with i2s settings, but that did help. Also tried an usb power source.

Source of noise is BT module. When it is unplugged, clicking noises is gone. In this thread, someone wrote that using balanced output was a cure. Will adding a "balanced to SE" module help?

Not loving the locked modules in sigmastudio, but i understand. Could 3e supply an auto on/off module, so i can turn off amp when no signal is present?

Is it possible to have the refs of the 2 differents coils types in the 3CH-200W ?

Anyone tried to bypass the opamp at the input ?
Op Amp versus Direct Drive
The op amps are used to change a single-ended input into a differential input. By default, the gain of the
op amps are set for unity gain; however, this can be modified to increase or decrease the gain through the
op amps. One way to bypass the op amps for a more direct connection is using the AIB.
and
The TPA3251EVM uses the NE5532 to buffer the differential input signal to the differential inputs
of the TPA3251 device

Need info on using EDSP-1701full range

I got my DS-EAUMT-140 up and working, and am planning to use it with a full-range speaker. However, the DS-EDSP-1701-24-A appears to be set up to use as a cross-over. Mid frequencies applied to the 3.5mm jack come out output 1, whereas low frequencies come out 3. Is there any way to get a full-range output short of re-programming the ADAU1701? Do any of the jumpers affect that? Re-programming's problematic for me since SigmaStudio doesn't appear to be available for the MAC and I don't have a PC.

Realistically, no.

No.

Sorry, but that's what you need to get hold of.

Set up for i2s input via pcm2706 usb

Hi,

I got the 3eaudio adau1701 dsp board working with analog input, but am having issue with i2s input - only hear white noise when playing music. Wonder if some one has success with i2s input and can share their hook up and settings.

Thanks,

Duc

Hi,
I have few tpa3116 2.0 amps and I want to add subwoofer to stereo speakers. Is it possible to connect to adau1701 dsp my khadas tone board DAC with RCA analog input and connect two tpa3116 amps to dsp out (one output as full range and other with dsp bass crossover) ? I was looking for some good 2.1 amps but probably It will be better to use separate amp for subwoofer. Is it possible with this dsp board ?

In attempting to set up external LEDs to monitor the pins for fault and clip I have somehow triggered my amp to be in some fault mode. The FAULT and CLIP OTW white LEDs are showing some sort of fault. Have I fried this amp board or is there a way to reset that? Hope someone out there can help!

For reference this is the EAUMT-0480-1-A | TPA3255 480W 1channel board.

Thanks,
Ryan

Hi, mine is working perfectly :D

But I'm wondering if it would be possible to feed it directly with the voltage outputs of a Wolfson DAC? No buffer, differential DAC output into the JRC4580... Or any advice about feeding these TPA with Wolfson 8742 ? :worship:

If you look at the many TPA3116 amps out there, they rarely use and input buffer to convert SE to diff or buffer diff to diff. Look at 3116 factory schematic and they simply connect a 1uF cap to GND on the -ve input. The +ve input goes to signal source via 1uF cap. It should work but I think noise performance might not be as good. On 3255 it looks like electrolytic 10uF caps are needed since internal impedance is lower. Film could be used but would be bigger/more expensive. Little 10uF 35v Silmic II’s are excellent for this.

Hello everyone, I have been playing around with Sigmastudio trying to configure the file crossover to get better quality for my speakers and I question if have bricked my ADAU1701.

I downloaded the DSP source file from 3e-audio website, opened it in Sigmastudio, correctly installed USBi Drivers, and made small changes and link download. I think where I messed up is when I wrote to the E2prom because now I cannot get anything out of it. I noticed that the LED in between the volume and treble pots will light up briefly when I reboot and turn off within 2-3 seconds after it powers up. I have another board that I have not touched and this LED stays powered the whole time.

I cannot find anything in the manual about this LED - Anyone have this happen before?

After hours of playing around with it, I noticed when I write the 3e DSP file to E2prom and "check last compilation vs E2prom" that I get a communication error. I have a hunch that have an issue with using Windows 10 and USB 3.0 ports (is that still a thing with newer Sigmastudio?) I even played around with the "disable USB 3.0/win10 fix" in SS with no avail.

Any help or input would be appreciated.

What is the power consumption of this DSP board, please? I folishly assumed it ws a 5v board but it shows it is 7-12v. How many amps is needed to get this running?

I have ordered two from ebay.

Edit:

200ma, I see. But no way to power the board via 5v other than the Micro USB. Hmm.
