Dave, that's actually a shot of the 4:20 light up last year, here in the 'big smoke', unrelated to this thread.
so, someone's counting down now, are they? A Saturday this year.
The intelligence of this woman, her enthusiasm, something so beautiful that emanates from her can bring tears to you as the greatest musicians can do.

Something very rare and precious, the same simplicity, the same emotion.

Succeeding to get the picture of the invisible from the idea that everything in the universe obeys the same forms, the same harmonies, those same of our daily life, is, somewhere, to approach a mystery greater than the one of a black hole. A mystery that some people call, without being able to define it, "God".

...bringing drives down from the mountain...
Turns out some of these observatories are so high-up (to 3 miles) that ordinary disk drives don't work.
So you've 'seen' the black hole. Now for the interesting bit – how all that raw data was stored • The Register
Interesting fact, I never considered that.Turns out some of these observatories are so high-up (to 3 miles) that ordinary disk drives don't work.

Except, an engineer would have put the drives in a pressurized vessel back in 2015. I do admit, helium filled drives are cool as well.

After watching Katie’s TED talk, I couldn’t help but imagine her middle school science fair project - probably not a paper mache volcano?
She probably built an MRI.
I loved how, when the trolls attacked her saying a guy wrote most of the code, that guy busted their humps and defended her big time.
And she said it was a team effort.
Class, major class. They have my utmost respect. That is how all should live their lives.

So photoshopping that image is officially the latest meme?
Heaven forbid I make fun of the op-amp rollers.

An unfortunate interpretation of a press release (MIT's PR is capable of being as clueless as anyone's) turned into a troll fest. It makes me want to pull the plug.

And yet, in this day and age, the truth comes out.An unfortunate interpretation of a press release (MIT's PR is capable of being as clueless as anyone's) turned into a troll fest. It makes me want to pull the plug.
Class always rises to the top.

I can get you a good deal on some vintage 12AX741A's.Heaven forbid I make fun of the op-amp rollers.
I saw that movie in the theater with some friends when it came out. It was a Friday night, and I think everyone in there was drunk as hell (we certainly were). I couldn't relate a single scene of it to you now. You might say there's a black hole in my memory where that film should be.Disney got the image pretty much right 40 years ago!
