Beautiful Speaker. What is the size of the driver and the enclosure?

I couldnt tell from the pic if it was a small driver in mini monitor size box, Or large driver in massive box.
In his early days, he sold those drivers separately. No longer. I should have jumped....probably still should. Lots of good feedback.
Oh, how is bass?

If you are getting any bass out of that size box, 98 dB is probably a bit of a stretch.

Easily loud in a large room; great mids with light but clean bass (45hz) and bright top end. I had some custom stands built with a slight tilt (they resemble old JBL monitor stands) so ear level is slightly off axis. I can listen all day without ear fatigue.I couldnt tell from the pic if it was a small driver in mini monitor size box, Or large driver in massive box.

Bass is really light. Haven't measured but spec is 45hz which i'm sure is down 3-6 db at that figure. I use a sub rolled in at 50hz.
I'm sure the room (depending on how close to the various walls) will increase the subjective bass a little. I have been thinking of trying some of the Audio Nirvana drivers in 10 inch size. They are available separately and are advertised to be of similar sensitivity.
Bass of the Audio Nirvana claims seems a little optimistic, but they do use a bit larger box. Always a compromise.

I hear ya. I'm going to eventually give these to my fiancé and build me something that is more suited for more full spectrum sound once we move. I really like these speakers though and enjoy listening to themI'm sure the room (depending on how close to the various walls) will increase the subjective bass a little. I have heard the Ceramic Cast Basket w whizzer and the 10” Classic. The 1st has ptential but i feel is overpriced, the latter i would avoid like the plague.

What box was the latter in and what were your observations and complaints, their sensitivity seems perfect for Pass Clones.

Just found this thread. Take a look at these:
I run modified K-horns ... ALK CSW crossovers, Crites cast basket woofers, Eliptrac tweeter horns w/DE10's.
Since we are talking exotic woods ... here is one of my veneered K-horns

The Cast Basket were in a set of custom Rectangular miniOnkens, the Classic was in a quick OB — its problems were some quite painful M-HF resonances. What box was the latter in and what were your observations and complaints, their sensitivity seems perfect for Pass Clones.

Bummer, but thanks for the heads up....I have been considering OB...but want as much sensitivity as possible, using FirstWatt clones, but compromises arise, no free lunch and you cant have it all...The Cast Basket were in a set of custom Rectangular miniOnkens, the Classic was in a quick OB — its problems were some quite painful M-HF resonances.

I've always wanted to try the NN Acoustics Xenia with my J2.
I remember them as being my favorite speakers at the Burning Amp held in Marin. They sounded incredible, were finished in Indian Palisander and they were beautiful!

Grasshopper is far too wise to bring forth such utterances my son. Praise the gods of loudspeakers past!I can't remember saying that I don't like Foster/x tweet , or these xovers , or Altecs
