Black soldier fly larvae are edible to humans.
The taste of the larvae is said to be very distinctive. "When you cook them, they smell a bit like cooked potatoes. The consistency is a bit harder on the outside and like soft meat on the inside. The taste is nutty and a bit meaty."
Why would anyone want to eat that?
I think the same about celery.

They make the perfect fish food for your aquaponics system. At the moment, i'm feeding my fish chook food.

You'd prefer to eat maggots?

Yup. I'd much rather eat fish to be honest, but BSFL wouldn't bother me.
In Blade Runner 2049, the future protein farms rely on insect larva.

Not really the future. Something like that has been around for a very long time (in Italy at least). I really don't know how long but my grand-grandparents already made it and ate it.

Now it appears to be illegal to be sold in shops but I can still find it locally from shepards and I love it.😉😀

I've heard that it is believed that when a person consumes the flesh of an animal that has been tortured, they take on their negative energy. This is probably more associated with common farming practices.

Wow, you look so happy in that photo. Do the insides resemble that of puss? I'd certainly imagine it would.

Not me. They are cooked you know.
Oh ok. My bad.
Cooking animals certainly destroys a lot of the nutrients in them. Maybe they should blanche them, just enough to kill the little cuties, but not enough to destroy the nutrients.
