Nesha, I too am waiting for a mini review from someone on this forum! I'm looking forward to an analysis on the board layout, and how to mod it 🙂 Good power have never been this cheap'n easy!
Hi Rich,
the module does not work with the red pcb, but PFFB is working the way TI showed in their white paper. The PFFB implemented on the green boards differ from the TI approach. If you apply/equip the PFFB parts, you may need to increase the gain at the frontend.

I will pick up mine tomorow..
3e audio was not perfect (poor bass)
I hope this one has not the same problem...
Keep you informed...
Realy would love this chip to work well...
Diytoon, could it be that that the input caps on the 3e board is too small? Causing the bass to to roll of to early since the input caps is working as a 1. order highpass filter before the op-amps?? http://www.ti.com/lit/df/slar129a/slar129a.pdf I'm wildly guessing here so I hope some of the "professionals" here can jump in 🙂

That is exactly what I was thinking...thats why I asked for the schematic, but did not get it...could be an engineering error or a production error...
A subsonic filter kicking in at around 150-200Hz...
It explanes why I have to lift the bass with an equalizer...
Anyway...my eyes are not what they used to be, so soldering smd is not my forte...
LS50 impedance is helpfull, see Stereophile measurements.
You may be right. it's definitely more than an amp's power rating and a speaker's sensitivity--damping factor.

Correction...there is nothing wrong with 3-e audio tpa3255...my mistake!
(Digital bass processor setting -4db at 90Hz)
The yuan jing tpa3255 should have arrived last week, but the parcel is lost somewhere...hope to get it this week...
🙄 Because ears are the best test equipment, so no further proper testing/measurement needed. I know, it's easy to blame others at first.
So, nice to see it finally fixed.

the ears worked like a charm, but the conclusions were wrong😛
Hmm, if i remember correctly, he stated, that all amps where tested/listened to in the same manner with the same setup. Having a setup with and another without a dsp in between isn't "the same" in my understanding of a "setup".
This is going nowhere...
About 12 amps, not including the hypex were used in the same setup...
I only replied regarding the hypex because someone asked about it...
Please let us enjoy listening to music instead of endless discussions about nothing...
Again, sorry for doubting the 3e-audio board...but lets close this discussion...
My mistake, but hey nobody was killed.

Sorry - another place he wrote the processor was there in all systems
- Home
- Amplifiers
- Class D
- TPA3255 - all about DIY, Discussion, Design etc
