Hello.Concerning active servo psu from earlier post i found some schematics on the web.In the lm317/337 variant i will replace the 2k2 resistors with 5K trimmers to have variable output. There are versions with the value of feedback resistor being 33K and others being 3.3K.Which one to use?

Use 33k

planning for preamp psu
which is better of your design of the following regarding noise, impedance and stability in that order
1.A class preamp psu
2.PSU for preamps with Serial Regulator(http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/power-supplies/164365-class-preamp-psu-3.html#post2481652)
3.Simple Shunt PSU for Preamps(http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/power-supplies/164365-class-preamp-psu-5.html#post3466883)
4.active servo psu from above
thanks

Use active servo psu with LM317/337
thanks mr mile
do some reading on the forum,
class -A or shunt regs are better (in my reading) than chip regs. In this thread, read Jwilhelm's post for class-A.
Read Salas shunt reg thread for Mr. N. Pass's B1 buffer!

Please check this layout, i attach psu with 7x15, LM317/337 with and witout trimpot to adjust output voltage. If ok, i'll provide pdf files.
Regards
do you do the layouts for apex?, they are almost same😀....BTW, nice layout.
in my opinion, its better to keep the trim pot.+ there are some requirements as per data sheet of LM. do read it.

hi ,
please do not mistake me
i do not ask questions without putting some work into it.after reading most of work but understanding very little about them , and measured performance of various preamp supply on line forum , salas favoured by this , (https://cdn.head-fi.org/a/6482736.gif)
jung favoured by ostripper in this thread " Pitchfork pre-amplifier" incidentally lay out was by jwilhelm
when i saw opamp based design from mr mile just wanted to ask his opinion
may be mr mile can explain why he preferred active servo over A class ,is it due to simplicity or performance
i could not find performance of mr miles design , if u have u can point to it
thanks
Apex AX-14
Thanks Mr. Mile for this wonderfull Amplifier, bass & treble is excellent. Thank you very much once again. Wow.....
Good Afternoon Mr.Mile,
Can I use C3856/A1492 instead of C5200/A1943, if yes then do i need to change anything using rail voltage +/-56V, and which will be better c5200 or c3856 in terms of sound qualtiy and stability.
Thanks Mr. Mile for this wonderfull Amplifier, bass & treble is excellent. Thank you very much once again. Wow.....

Can you post some pictures of your work.

This i made as a test amp, now I'll build a stereo version in a single board. Need some more help from you regarding protection circuit.

FA9 class A
hi mr. mile, newbie here. i almost finish populating the pcb board (FA9). if i change bd139/140 to 2sc5171/2sa1930, is there any significant difference? say, high or mid tone.
regards,
rio
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
I have sent pcb files of AlexMM's version 1.4 of APEX A40 to be done by a friend of mine (the same one will make me APEX SR300 boards). as soon I do any progress I will post results.
I haven't check for possible wrong connections but i must say that is a clever clear schematic diagram!i have done some prepairing to draw a pcb for APEX AX30:

🙂 true, but it is not really "peace of cake" to draw a pcb for it,there is a lot of transistors that need to be together on a same heatsink and also to avoid too much jumpers. really not a usuall schematics,at least for output stage.
