From the first post this thread is full of inconsistencies, from the first picture both transformer bobbins do not match dimensionally, subsequent puzzling posts... contradictions...
If accusing someone of cheated us seems insulting and offending, please accept my apologies, but seems to me that his was not a correct attitude to say the least.
Without all those issues this would be just another good technical discussion.
Ah, by the way, do not count on me to being a snitch...

All of them, they sound wonderful, but I do not sell transformers. 😉
none at the moment, you want one?
Not for me. But it can be useful, to move such threads there. 😀

I use Edcor transformers. They perform miracles in my amps, with zero snake oil. 😛
And I know that Tony himself does not use it in his own transformers. ;-)

Come on Anatoliy, all of us already know that the miracle performer is you with your designs.

No miracles. I share what and why I am doing.

same here...i am not a commercial winder, just for a hobby......
waltube must feel the same.....i do not question motives.....

Edcors mostly, unless you have ruskie opts, i have seen those in Russia where i lived and worked for 6 years....i can recognise them even from 10 feet away...
Some info:
1- I am a tech. engineer in a International computer company
2- the relation with Fiat are customer (me) and manifacturer (fiat); are years that I use their products.
For experiments and article that I sometimes write they build stuff that I PAY!!!! the material and they save me the man time .
This for tor two simlpe reason: first I mentioned them, sometimes, when I write something on forum and magazines , second together we will increase the experience on this field.
Thats' all and this must be clear.
About my request to Popillin to show us the test he done on trafos so we compare the results, this he can help me for the future , I am waiting.
I think also other member would like to look on them; I think that one technician as Popillin must have lot of results of tests he made on hundreds of stuff he have build or bought.
Mr Wavebourn, please I would like to remember your post nr. 8 regarding Edcor trafo that I believe is good stuff but the info you sent are for entire amps and, as someone wrote, this info was OT ; instead, if you want, please comment the diagram I sent also the last two on a s.e. amps, I think they are interesting or not?
Bye, for the moment
Walter
ps: GM70 amplifier with Fiat transformers
this is the site of Mr. Ciuffoli ( that now I discovere banned!! on this forum )that is a customer of FIAT and he posted on this forum many good project

Regarding post 71
I add two diagam about same amp but with normal trafo, the difference with Litz are more evident on freq answer.
The swap within the circuit is exactly one to one, any modification about sensitivity and bias current.

Anatoly is excellent circuit designer,i have seen Edcors in his amps....

So you pay for the material, and Fiat sponsors the labour to wind the transformers?
Then Fiat certainly has a commercial interest, and you are just representing that interest.
This thread belongs in the Vendor's Bazar.
Pieter,
I am a tech collaborator of Audioreview magazine, for my articles ( mainly dedicate to tubes) I use Fiat but other vendor as Sowter, Hammond and Trau ( Italian).
FiAT is not my sponsor, OK?
This must be clear.
In this way the poeple that send post naming Edcor ( just an example) are sponsored from them????
I use them because I can present a good project as:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/tubes-valves/308607-p-p-el34-kt120.html
Please read this thread and have a look on the performances. Behind the diagrams there is a article where I dscuss in which way is possible to have a better results changing the tubes ( where possible) mantainig a good quality and in some case to go better; as you can see everything is proved with test lab mesurement.
There is also a table where I have mesured the real Zout of each pentode/tetrode for different bias current, to see in the real world what happen.
I have also Sofia where I can test and match each tube.
I have AP1 ( personal ) in my lab plus other equipments + another AP1 and AP5xx on Audioreview lab for more test on different project.
Not only words.
About Rdc, on normal wire I have about 80 ohm, on Litz about 92 ohm. These values far from your indication; 12 ohm of difference is much more less than 0,1 dB of higher loss I have calculate referred from your value .

You write:
"For experiments and article that I sometimes write they build stuff that I PAY!!!! the material and they save me the man time" (post 92).
Unless it is your English, but I conclude that they give you a discount by only paying for material and not the labour, right? So you have a good discount "buying" Fiat transformers? Correct me when I am wrong.
When writing about stuff which you have bought with discount you clearly are biased, and the manufacturer, Fiat in this case, are using you for their commercial interest.
This is rather normal practice in audio: many socalled reviews are biased because the reviewer has profits by enjoying discounts or he rewards the manufacturer for his advertising.
I guess that people mentioning Edcor transformers bought these for their projects like anyone else; no discounts or sponsoring involved.

That would be nice when the number of turns for the litz and normal wire transformer would be the same but they are not, so this info is useless.
my take:
as long as no direct mention of pricing and no explicit selling/buying goes on,
this thread can continue...
as long as the OP is willing to share all informations without reservations
this thread carries on.....
the mods in the backroom are aware, a decision can be reached depending on how
you guys behave....
you are advised to stick to the topic pretty please.....

Again.
The BOBBINS ARE THE SAME!!!! THE TURNS ARE THE SAME!!!!
The start point was the ratio 20:1 must be equal for both trafo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I switched from one to other trafo, as written before, nothing changed on output level a t mid freq. ( just mV)
Reagarding your words on my or FIAT convenience I think you are "climbing on the mirror".
What I have to do if they follow me in this experiments? That I PAY!!!!!!!!!
If I ask to Sowter do you think they give me the prototype???
Or Edcor; thousand miles far from me?
Is it possible that from an interesting start point ( as other confirmed) we are talking about which is the relation from one member and one manifacturer????
It is incredible.
At the end of the story you are free to buy other stuff from other brand, where is the problem?
Please talk about tech arguments
Thx
Walter

to Tony
I am trying to stay on topics sending the results of many tests on Trafos done in the field, most of them never seen before because this is the first time that a investigation on these stuff is done in that way.
I think that the critics must be done, in case, but with the same quality level.
Someone moving on the relations from me and one company goes in OT.
Is difficult to accept this, but I am continuing to post the next results.
I hope others, as my previous requests, can do the same.

OK with the 20:1 winding ratio being the same, that has been clear from the beginning, but are the NUMBER of turns also the same (instead of "the turns are the same....")???
