Very nice, soulmerchant. Can you give us any tips on how you cut the holes for the panels? It's a great result.

First marked them on the plate (print-out on thin paper carfefully taped to the plate before tapping the drill points.
Then with a very small bit as exactly as possible I drilled pilot holes.
Then I used a stepped drill bit, making sure it was well lubricated.
You might notice that the only visible screws are in the corners. All tubes are counter-sunk to the underlying plate, which need not be so pretty 🙂
btw I cheated on the knobs. they're audio-note or something..
Mains transformer cover is from Thomas Mayer as well... 😉
I used front panel designer to create the top plate file and printed it out to actual size.

Thank you for the info! I might have to try this on a future amp to hide screws. Not that I can afford Tangos 🙂
I looked at this thread a lot for visual ideas and inspiration for this project
It's a 6sn7 cathode follower line stage.

Motor Start Capacitors are rated for intermittent duty ONLY. Always use Motor Run Caps. Are you using motor start or motor run caps?
Cheers,

Sorry no thread here on this build.
I don't post much, but read on an almost daily basis.
Yes motor run caps are GE 97 type.

Toroidy TTG-6AS7PP from poland.
Omg, such a nice parts shop.. glad I read this forum.. how do the toroid OPTs perform from this company ?
Mr Ed, do I spot OD3 regulators there? got any more info on that?
It is a CLCLC supply split after the first choke , there is a CCS, OD3 and OB3 then out to the 6SN7.
