Is this the original wiring? My NS10 has more loosely twisting of the ground and signal to the RCA sockets.
Could you please take a detailled photograph of the wiring around the mono/stereo switch in case I would like to have that functional again?

Missing chip thanks
Thanks Malotron, I shall try the LM723 When I locate one. This baby is going to come back to life soon.

hehe BUMP!
Boy, been a while since i thought about this stuff....
It looks like this thread morphed mostly into a PSU discussion - with few impressions of the actual original style NS-10 clone as designed here.
I'm looking for a 'lightweight' discrete linestage to integrate into a project, and this PASS pre looks ideal. I like the RIAA option as well!
If you actually built this as re-designed here....
How did it all work out? Any odd issues? Sound? (loaded question there 🙂 )
Thanks all!
Apass - YGM, in a minute.

Should be good, or you could parallell two 22uF or five 10uF or something.
Thanks R-K,
I am trying to understand why such a large value was chosen. Was the goal to 'fold over' just above DC?
I'm probably missing an important aspect of what's happening.
or you can make iteration with bipolar PSU and get rid of it
Oh boy, there you go again, complicating things for me

Seriously, I want to make one like the original - maybe just a little different. Russ' thread has everything one needs to make a bipolar NS-XY. I am sure that one is great.

dunno - we made that one ( with Shinyy, if I remember correctly) eons ago
on Baby DiyA , or maybe some FiFi forum (DIY section) where we were prior to Baby DiyA

Quick (and dirty) calculations informs -3dB @ 0.07Hz (assumed power amp input impedance of 47 kOhms).
4.7 uF would probably work like a charm.

R-K, thank you for confirming that.
Reaallly? CHOOSE to use EL ?
better to just a 10uf poly thing, no?
MKP ish box or tube?

Are there any boards available anywhere for this great preamp?
[I had an original and have always regretted selling it!]
