Thanks Jesper, we are all on a learning curve
.... smiling here .... sometimes think that the overall learning curve could be "life" ...
Cheers,
Jesper
@acko: Hi again ... I've been reading on & off in this thread so might have missed it .. but can I ask you to briefly say what the concept of your DSD DAC is? Is it a combined DSP & DAC (what sort of DAC) solution or something else?
Just a brief description would be fine.
Cheers,
Jesper

It is combined DSP DAC. I think that is what all modern DACs are.
Btw, As I see it even this 'NoDAC' approach has DSP - all happening in HQPlayer hosted on PC
Right on Acko. Any rough ETA of when your thinking you can expect a finished product?
I am doing board layout now based on the results, this itself taking a lot of time to optimize trackwork and then all the testing but will get there 🙂

Hi, that is exactly my idea too, using HQPlayer and/or Acourate for DSP.
A bit of topic but concerns te connection, how to feed it:
Question for me is, after per channel say for a 3-4 way speaker done that DSP in PCM and than to DSD signal, how to transfer it from PC to the 3-4 number of mono DACs (mono's which I like anyway!).
I was hoping AVB via CAT6/7 would be something I guess, but as far as I know the 10/100 ethernet endpoints can do a max of 8ch@48kHz, 4@96, 2@192, 1@384 and no idea about 24bit or 32bit and no idea either about DSD. Anyway a better alternate should be 1GB endpoint without such limits.
ETA, end April at this stage and more information by then....
Any more news Acko?
Cheers
Ray
Board layout is being finalized 🙂
So what's it looking like now in terms of the functionality included?

As per previous posts. More details closer to end of this month...
It is taking longer than expected but rest assured this will roll out eventually.
Also, for those who have PM'ed me you can connect this DAC to any media player and you do not need a high power PC running HQPlayer. The built-in upsampler converts PCM to DSD and DSD to DSD (untouched) automatically.
If you are streaming Tidal, again just a low power PC with USB direct to DAC for DSD output from Tidal 44.1k No need to go through Roon-HQPlayer NAA or Linux boxes.
Since upsampling and transcoding is taking place at the point of consumption, it is also very light on the network. For tests I am using a 1MHz Netbook and music streamed (including Tidal) over home wifi.
I am looking at adding a second I2S port to make it more useful so there is some additional work.

sorry aco I just want to know more about this product,
does it strip and output the DSD in hdmi,

I forgot to clarify, the output is pure analog as in a DAC. DSD conversion is internal and digital signals are not available for external interface.
Is the Amanero still your choice of USB interface these days?
Actually, not dependent on any particular I2S source.
Digital inputs are compatible with popular sources like:
Amanero, WaveIO, JLSounds(OEM type), BeagleBone and SDTrans384

And there are plans for Spdif and even Analog Line Inputs...
