It should be all or nothing if both genders are truly equal.

I was wondering what a jade plant is so I googled (DuckDuckGoed actually) it.
Turns out it's the Chinese Take Away Plant aka money tree!
I think I had a jade plant in college. I should get another. I still have Phred, my Philodendron. I got it before I met my first wife, so I guess it is about 38 years old.
These grow by my car park entrance and are currently loaded with combs of a small sweet golden variety of fruit we call pisang emasMy favourite house plant is my banana tree which I grew from a 2" seedling.
After 38 years that thing must huge!
They are commonly known as 'Swiss Cheese Plant' here because of the holes/gaps in the leaves.
I've got one I bought 10 years ago and last month the wife cut half of it off because it got too big and blocked out any light from getting into he bedroom.

No such luck in the UK which is a shame as they are rather pretty plants.
I've bought a tiny seedling 2 years ago from the Eden Project.
Now I've got 8 counting the side shoots and am forever looking for reliable people to take some of me. Bananas take a LOT of water!

They grow up the forest trees in Malaysia and can sprint to the canopy in no time. It's odd seeing all the plants I used to keep in the UK thriving outdoors and huge sizesAfter 38 years that thing must huge!

eh? monstera deliciosa (swiss cheese plant) and banana are 2 completely different things.
Aside: why does every other one of the 2000 odd banana varieties test better than the ones you get in the supermarket.

Yes they are.
What is confusing is that I responded to TheGimp without quoting him at the same time as davidsrsb responded to me with quote. David was 3 minutes too fast or I was 3 minutes slow. From where I'm sitting it was clearly davidsrsb's fault. But I would be saying that now, wouldn't I? ;-)

Myhrrhleine if I may ask, does your audio hobby drive your technical pursuits or are your electronics interests independent, and what are your main audio interests?
They are picked really unripe and artificially ripened for sale and are a sterile variety selected for appearance and seedlessness rather than tasteAside: why does every other one of the 2000 odd banana varieties test better than the ones you get in the supermarket.
still not fair. I didn't realise how nice bananas could taste till I went to the Seychelles once.

Oddly enough everywhere I lived so far (Germany, UK) philodendron and monstera are colloquially speaking interchangeable. I know they are not but it does slip my mind sometimes. Mea culpa...
Not sure about everyone of the other 2000 species of banana.
Plantains and those little green cooking bananas taste really bad raw.
Raw plantains will probably give you the runs too.
You can make excellent and lactose-free (if you need that kind of thing) pancakes with seriously overripe ones though.
By seriously overripe I mean the things should be pretty much black or brown all over with very little yellow left.
