Two boards please, populated as in column D by Quick Circuits.
Thanks for your efforts in this project, & hoping for a successful outcome.

I'am in too !
Just a quick question do you think it will be possible for quick circuit to provide the part that we'll have to solder by ourself. It should be cheaper if these parts are bought as a bulk.
Thank a lot to everyone involved in this group buy.

I had suggested those Susumu 0.1% 25ppm in post #215 but it got ignored...

Glad to see someone realized that later than never! 😉

So whoever is happy with this and confident it's a good compromise and willing to stick their neck on the line, please say so and I will send the email asking for an updated quote.
🙂
Once I have sproglet asleep will run through and check. Brief scan looks ok but for
1. Includes through hole components can you confirm if these are in or out?
2. This is the 'high gain' BOM? Not sure if the discussion on that got lost in some pedantry in the last few pages.
Hi Bill (it is Bill, right?)
1. No, I hadn't asked them to include. But you're right, it would make sense. I'm happy to do this myself (keep it simple for them) - we should still benefit from reduced break point pricing on stuff.
2. Not sure, I took the original Excel file from the first post of the thread and then changed the melfs to standard 0805 thin film precisions (apart from the high current ones). As I haven't sent the email off to Quick Circuits, we can modify of course.
Thanks. When I have time, I'll price together all the other parts (going with the ones from the BOM)

OK, I've been through and costed out the parts based on building around 110 units.
Individual PTH parts come out at around £20+VAT each.
However there are a few snags with the Elna caps. After a quick search, I could only find Mouser that do them, and the 50V 100uF Bipolar isn't a stock item. Other caps have a very long, in other words, unacceptable lead time...

Oh and I forgot to specify that excludes the Hypex regulators. Which reminds me I never received a reply to my email from last Tuesday.
Jan, maybe you could help? I've bought an awful lot of stuff from Hypex, but not quite over 100 units worth of stuff! I know we have Bruno's blessings on the GB, but I don't know whether my mails will be ignored.

Yup. Well except to familyHi Bill (it is Bill, right?)
I don't need the through hole parts and you might have a charge for bagging up. My personal view is to remove those, but will let it be a democratic decision.1. No, I hadn't asked them to include. I have a rather odd application that doesn't really care, but for others they might, or might just use a series resistor in the pot.As mentioned previously in this thread, there was a GB for this preamp in another forum a year ago, and we basically used Bruno's BOM, interpreting the term "precisision thin film" as "0.1% thin film". There was a change however in that we used R2/30/13/40 = 2K2 instead of the 1K in the BOM in order to reduce the total gain of the preamp (suggested by Jan). This change extends the attenuation part of the volume control range by 6.8dB and improves the volume regulation characteristics in that area, at a cost of reducing the CMRR.
Making this change necessitates also changing R8/17/35/44 to 22K in order for the DC compensation to work correctly.
I am interested in a stuffed board.
You should also look at producing Hans Polak's alternative volume control for Bruno's preamp. Description is available at linear audio.

Dear all, having looked at the current Excel file, I feel the options aren't clear to me, so apologies if I caused some confusion.
Column D is for assembled SMD versions of the board. This is the board assembled with the SMD components, but no assembly of PTH components or Hypex regulators.
Column E is for the Hypex regs. This is separate from PCBs. Put a number here if you want to have the regulators supplied too (not soldered). This is in addition to a number in column D.
Few examples:

I'll try. You want a quote for 100 ea. of the pos and neg regs, right?
Shipped where to?
Jan
Yes, I'll send you a PMI'll try. You want a quote for 100 ea. of the pos and neg regs, right?

edit: looks like I can't send you a PM.
