I could design a magnetic field normaliser to rotate the local field to compensate for the change in bearing as the arm pivots towards the centre of the disk. 😉If phono cartridges were sensitive to small magnetic fields, audiophiles would be writing about how to use a magnetic compass to align the turntable North, East, South, West.
Another high end audio scam, like record and CD demagnetizes, pure adulterated BS....
Funnily where I was working last week they were having a laugh at directional cables and other esoteric audiophile beliefs in the canteen at dinner time at the nest table, in fact I would go as far as saying they were scoffing at the ridiculous things that have become truths to the hardcore audiophile believer... A sad reflection on the hobby when some of the silly beliefs encourage scorn and ridicule....
Regarding grounding boxes... firstly here you can see what is inside them...
Entreq Tellus grounding - Page 169
then for the uninitiated here is some information regarding the ground myth...

Of course if any believer has ANY scrap of information supporting their operation I would be appreciate it (not holding my breath, been asking for 9+ years for info on BQP's and haven't seen anything yet)
I was wondering when this one would pop up. Some audiophiles have been making some using a different structure. One shop got some stuff they use for sand blasting surface treatment, put it in a plastic bag, then in a box, stuck some solid core power wires into it and connected it to the ground of a power strip. The result was also clearly audible cleaner sound. I have not tried it, but I did get some used sand left from sand blasting with the intention of seeing whether it will make a difference.
I guarantee Fremer would starve if he had a faceoff with my cat.
Do you think you could train your cat to use an ABX box? Because, I dunno, that would be kind of cool.

I'm sure someone out there is already doing that, probably more than one.
By the way, I apologize for mistaking you for Peter Aczel back there when you reposted his retirement announcement. I can be rather thick sometimes.

There is no ground/earth connection. The box is filled with a secret magic compound. The idea is: bad electricity goes into the box and just disappears in the compound. These boxes make White Van speaker construction look good, but then the speakers do play music.Where is the ground/earth? Does the buyer have to supply his own soil? Obviously, the box can't work with no soil in it.

I showed it to my wife who goes through potting soil in big sacks for starting seeds (I only known about the tomatoes and peppers that result...mmmm!), and she says it looks more to her like activated carbon.
Shootz! I made line level interconnect cables from mud. Posted the results here a few years back. Some people preferred the mud cables. Why limit yourself to the ground plane?
Yes. Ground side electrons and boxes of earth are probably based on the same science. In essence, they don't accept that a quasi-static electric field is a conservative field so can be represented by a gauge-invariant scalar potential. They probably would not choose to describe their ideas in this way.soongsc said:The "ground side electrons" thread talks about a different solution of a similar nature.

I'll bet you don't believe in the little dots around your speaker cones either.
The "ground side electrons" thread talks about a different solution of a similar nature.
And both totally ignore the reality of how signals propagate....

They look pretty🙂

Contrarily, I think the reason these work is because the circuit designer assume ground as infinite sink. Someone posted a link to a document that explains it much better.
Post 8400, I corrected the link. I have pointed out to you about 3 times I corrected the link. So now can you drop the cheap shots and accept I did post the corrrect link BEFORE you did?The link was broken, and had no supporting text, which others also noted. So I had to decode an incompetent, unchecked post to figure it out.
And there in lies the problem. No good circuit designer would ever think of ground as a sink or sump, infinite or not.Contrarily, I think the reason these work is because the circuit designer assume ground as infinite sink........
Ground is just a common reference point. (simplest definition)

Sorry a wire into a box of dirt does not "work". Bud P's wire hanging off into the air does not either.
Somehow this weeks news from LIGO is inspirational and this audio nonsense seems like more of a waste of time than ever before.

I have no experience with Bud P's device, but I have heard the difference of the wire in a dirt box in two individual occasions with different design structure and dirt. I have no doubt that it does something in their systems, have not tried in May system though simply because I think getting other things technically better are of higher priority. The first time I heard the wire in dirt device, I really did not know anything changed, just walked in a noticed that sound was more clean and non fatiguing than before and asked.
To a consumer, it could be a fix of not so ideally designed equipment, but is a hit or miss guess like many other audio accessories.
