Jan has led a lonely, lonely life.
Me too, scout's honor.
Totally unselfish as I am, I'd like to volunteer for a chicken check assignment. For anything under 60 I'm good to go, 70 for biggies.
(but it better not be a DBT, or I'm outa here. After 10 years of posting on this thread, likely the best option)
Check out Vishay PTF series. They are physically large for their power rating, but very good specs.
Edit: That was in response to Jan Didden's question.
What do they sound like? '-)
Really good, among through hole parts is the nearest to a bulk metal foil resistor at a decent price.
Also great to be used as shunt resistors while using bulk metal foils in series to the signal.
Also the RLR07 (1% 100ppm) cousins are pretty damn good.
For whom bothering about it (or fools enough according others) they should be used with markings reversed vs the signal flow, like other Dales. (magic! 😀)
I would split it up and use two. Done properly drops the inductance and capacitance but that shouldn't really matter. Also you might actually look to see if the value can be raised.
Even with existing traces two should fit nicely vertically.
Keep in mind they are bulky, the PTF65 (1/4W) is bigger than some 1/2W resistors.

I would like to go on record that I stopped taking my 'scope to bed.
Now working to distance myself from my network analyzer...

Damn - that won't work for me, my signal is ac...😡

Nevertheless in my world of fairy tales, with AC signals, they sound different according direction...

I'm dreaming of a resistor that sounds like a Bybee Quantum Purifier. Otherwise around, is not that interesting.

Not impossible! Might even get around to an article telling how to measure it!
But before the end of the year have to finish the power supply short article.
Well I just heard a radio commercial for KFC. Now I understand why some folks don't like it. KFC is "Finger Licking Good!" So apparently you are not supposed to actually eat it. 🙂
Damn - that won't work for me, my signal is ac...😡
Even worse, the printing "direction" is random, as is lead "direction" of individual leads.
What you have here is total fantasy.

Yeah, these resistors are DC only. For AC you need "impedors". 😀

Whatever happened to the memristor? I see the current date has been moved out to 2018, so easy to be cynical.

Lots of biggies doing junkanoo this week, somehow way more fun than talking about cars.
Let's get real Scott, neither you or SY like cars much. That is OK, but let the rest of us enjoy the discussion. I don't often try to stop either you or SY when you go on about subject matter that I am not much interested in.
Dario, you were very brave pointing out your listening preferences with Dale resistors. Don't let the critics get you down! '-)

I think you need a little junkanoo.

I wouldn't say critic, just pointing out a few realities of electronics, now to shut us up providing some empirical data would do the trick.... I do wonder why this isn't an issue on sensitive analogue designs for instrumentation....
