we have a nice example for using the optocoupler for biasing an output stage and even the LTP already here in the Pass Labs forum by Nelson himself

The Mu Monster is such a nice idea…… 🙂
LOL. I was just reading that thread and studying the schematic.
We must be telepathic, probably hybrid aliens. Hahahaha
I've got a stack of lu1014d, I could make a buffer with those as an alternativeuse F4 , F6 -like buffer
so , JFet complementary one
pretty low output impedance
you can double them , if you wish , for more ooomph
or you can use superduper diamond buffer , but tweaked for nice 2nd
I only have 25 of each 2sk170 and 2sj74 (make that 23 of each after F6).why ?
The lu1014d are less likely to be needed in the future compared with the Toshiba Jfets.
Just considering my options.
It's about time we came up with another Pass inspired preamp.
I'm considering jfet buffer input then volume pot then a 2 parallel pair jfet buffer output.
I like having stuff small and modular.
Here is my DCB1 board. 1x1 inches. Small enough to fit anywhere
It would be pretty easy to fit the simple push-pull buffer in there.
PS: Sorry for no credits on the pcb. I have them just for personal use, and never used them on anything besides testing yet.

Me too. Can't beat the purity of a single device.(For betting odds, I'll put my money on The Hockey-Pukka)

I certainly hope they sound better than they look!
Hide them in a nice case. 🙂 I will impatiently wait for your review.

Aaah...it's going to take some time - working on the heat sinks and the case, and trying to do it well. Papa mentioned 6L6 is working on boards, so I will probably see how that goes before deciding if I should do that or go p2p. Anyway, it will be great fun!!

O.k......🙂
I was more delighted to see the use of the optocouplers in the outputstage and in the LTP than in the adventure to build this really........😀
I have a big case from a friend with big heatsinks so ........
Do I want to play hockey.....?

Boys or girls ?
(if it's girls, I'll chase them with a stick all day long)

You think about shoulder washer for those monsters?
You think about shoulder washer for those monsters yet?
The screws and washers come with the pucks from Mouser in a separate bag. Still working out how many ring terminals I need to be piling onto each screw based on the PS cap configuration.
Well, after seeing some of the coverage, my decision to skip BAF this year suddenly looks a lot less smart...
Ahh well, there's always going to be next year.

Your absence was conspicuous, Jan. Hope to catch you in the future 🙂
