Back when I was doing fluid mechanics at Uni they preferred to say that the standard models for fluid mechanics were not accurate enough and that the bee clearly knew more about flow at microscopic level than they did!

And when I throw a ball at my dog, he catches it... see? He knows Calculus!

Yiikes!!!😱

That truly belittles science. Some people might even think you're serious!😛

Note to self... Next dog will be named Einstein. Good name for screaming from the porch....two syllables.

Naming of pets and kids, in my house anyway...
Boy for the boys
Girl for the Girls
Cat for the cats
Dog for the dog
7 kids (though only 2 left at home), 2 cats and 2 dogs confusion rules... but eventually one of them will answer to my shouts.....
Don't know what to do about the Grandkid's though, have toyed with the idea of numbers 1 to 10... or just call them Bybee (all but 1 under 4).
The wife insists on using nouns, but this is rather complex and confusing for me......

I didn't bring up the subject, I was just asked about it. I have never used the latest device under question, just have seen it in Jack's listening room. That's all that I can say about it. I certainly haven't received any money (or anything else) from it, nor would I expect to. What is the problem?

.

Somewhere in the house I have a copy of the fine tome 'how to teach quantum physics to your dog.

Not belittling science at all, no idea where you got that from. Or is it just the old world sense of humor failing to cross the pond again?

Actually, no. I got the joke.

However, when in high school, I was actually told "My dog knows Calculus" by an older student who was quite serious. He did not do so well in math/science, so he was trivializing it.... and trying to lay down some sort of IQ pecking order, as I was excellent at it.

Some people attack what they do not understand. Discrediting *is* an attack.

Ah. All makes sense now 🙂

I have not looked at serious fluid mechanics for 3 decades, but I believe that small fuzzy things moving in compressible fluids is still some fairly hairy(pun intended) maths compared to the more simple cases of cannon balls etc.

I saw him once, in his home, in the last 3 years. I usually see him, once a year. I visited him once, early this year, and only then. We might meet up at the Cal Hi Fi Show this week, but only at the SF airport area at the show. He is located just too far away, and I can't drive that far. He is over 85 years old, and has a hard time getting to me as well, so it is a phone call, once a week or so.
