Just some test shoot here...

The DAC runs from a PC using Jriver. DSD is as DSD/DOP mode.

You can clearly see the rise in noise which is normal for DSD and part of its nature.

For those not happy playing around with mains power (And for kids) we will make a small board. that uses a 15V/ 7 - 20W external power supply with DC jack connector (2.5mm). It will make the needed voltages for the DAC.

How does that sound? Anything we should go on with?

Will firmware that enables the various filters be available with the DAC? How are firmware changes made?

There will be different version of the firmware available for the different filters. Firmware upgrade is done through the USB port using xmos driver.

Any plans for an enclosure for the dac?

Yes, Sonny is considering buying into this remote depot for telephone booths being able to offer headphones and nearfield affictionados a 300 pounds enclosure with built in listening room 🙂. 🙂 Will lend the term 'isolation platform' a whole new meaning 🙂 Phonebox DAC enlosure 🙂

Hi Sonny - is everything on track for these top start shipping out tomorrow? I'm excited to hear your handiwork. Your version of the DAC with other inputs - how do you plan on selling it? When will it be available, and how can I find out more details about it?

Hello MisterRogers.

It is on track. We receive the USB sticks tomorrow together with the power cable assembly. The boards are ready with firmware loaded. As soon as they arrive we can close the packages and ship them out.

2 units are out for testing in Odense where i live.

One of the people who have testet says it plays as good as his audio aero Capitol mk II 24/192 cd/dac... Bass region is 1/100 better on the USB audio dac V1.0
