Lotus Macau TV channel.
For some reason it shows almost nothing but 90's movies and other highly rated flicks.
90's movies have a certain charm and depth to them.
Tonight I'll be watching the soccer world cup like everyone else.

Kastor, you are from South-East Asia; those movies from the 90's could you please post just a few? ...Titles, and perhaps picture covers.
That would be swell because they represent some of the movie directors and the social mind and uniqueness of your area of living. ...Good for the global expansion of knowledge. Also, who are the new cutting-edge movie directors in the recent years at your home? You're a Blu-ray, DVD movie watcher, occasionally?
* I also love watching some football during the World Cup. ...Argentina is the team I picked, out of the hat.

I just finished watching "Veronica Guerin" on Lotus Macau with Cate Blanchett.
I recently liked "The Hunted" with Benicio Del Toro.
I should have clarified this TV channel is showing almost exclusively western movies.
For South-East Asian well these countries do not make very good movies at all imho, but the Thai's are very good at horror for some reason, I'd highly recommend "Shutter"
For action / martial art "Ong Bak" is perhaps the best no wire / no CGI movie there is.

I'd say most of the youth in East / South-East Asia look up to Korea and Japan for the active entertainment industry these days, aside from America that is, then a little bit from Europe.
I'm not very familiar with Korean or Japanese directors but I did see one Korean movie which features a psycho-killer audiophile. Yup.

Thank you for the good replies Kastor. 😎
* 'Ong-Bak', I'm familiar with; I've got two flicks. ...The real deal (real stunts, no CGI).
** 'Shutter', I'll have a look.
_______
There are some master cinema directors from Japan, as I'm sure you know. ... Akira Kurosawa just to name one.
_______
'The Hunted' (American) I liked, if not over fetched a little. 🙂
...But two great actors that I respect very much.
___________
Last night I simply revisited 'Robocop', the original. I don't know why exactly because it sucked! 😀

"They Call Me Mr. Tibbs" -- I didn't see it when it first came out -- only later, but it's one of those you can't turn off -- on TCM at the moment.
"She done him wrong" -- ca 1933 Mae West wrote most of this -- Cary Grant too -- this is highly recommended!
I took my youngest son to see "Rear Window" when it was re-released in the new 35mm print at "The Film Forum" in NYC -- prior to that i had only seen it B&W.
At the moment watching the Tour de France makes it way through Yorkshire.

Went to a great little Italian restaurant afterward, so he was mucho entertained. I think he was 2nd yr in high school and my wife was in the research lab until 10:00 pm that night so we journeyed into NYC. We knew then that it was a trip to "21 Club" in the offing at some point -- (the place which Grace Kelly had cater their meal.) That part of "the Village" is tres cher these days.
Sounds like it was an entertaining evening for you both; thx for sharing memory back alley lane in time when things were reasonably affordable in the big apple.
Just about to watch this ::

...In color.
I did, but colors were missing. ...I think my TV is going; I need a new one with a refresh mode, to restore the colors.
