Ultimate Open Baffle Gallery

May I add my nautilus to this gallery, a small open baffle for desktop listening

Fostex FF85Wk plus Eminence Alpha 8A cut a 150Hz with a second order LC passive filter

A brief history of this creation can be found here http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/planars-exotics/251310-open-baffle-nautilus-fibonacci-solution-edge-diffraction.html

MOM Audio M1

This was my first speaker build. It took a couple of years from start to finish. I had to learn a lot about acoustics, 3D modeling, CNC, wood working, machining, etc. This thread and DIYAudio in general provided lots of inspiration and food for thought, so thanks for that!

Some design notes:
- W-frame bass, dipole mid bass, sealed midrange (SEAS)
- Embedded quad amping (Hypex)
- DSP-based XO, driver linearization, time alignment, and room correction (Acourate)

They sound incredible.

They look very nice, great job! I have no doubt they sound very good.

Hi Dave, I thought I had seen it al butt this design with the sort of ported bass I had never seen. Thanks for that. I love the looks of it.

Do you know where I can find more on this design?

Raymond

The only other implementation of this design I have seen is by Emerald Physics referred to as "Bass propagation technology"

I refer to it as Loaded Baffle Acoustic Transformer. "LBAT"

Dave

Thanks for the link and the explanation.....more to read (isn't DIY fun..pppfff).

And yes I could have used Google, but if we don't ask and just use Google. Then we come to a point of non conversation. In this case it shows my admiration and curiosity...

I do agree that many people could use google better and mabye more important the search engine on this site....
