Hi Peter,
Did you get my emails?
Regards,
TonyB
I taked to Peter on the Mini FF. Yes he is alive.
He got 40 replacement transformers from Block.
They are better but not perfect.
There may be another option from Hammond but it has to be tried.
I must really say that this bugs me. I use Block transformers since years without problems but Peter showd me one that was not very well sealed.
He contacted Block and got answers like this " A transformer that does not hum is no transformer ", yes, well, YES....

Hi,
I need 2 boards of Paradise Preregulator. Anyone who sells? A link to a PCB file to make my own?

Paradise PreReg Group Buy Assessment of Demand
Hi Guys,
i just talked to Peter and he would do another round of Prereg PCB production if we get together at least 20 Stereosets = 40 PCBs for production.
It seems to be a pretty good time for this, as many people have ordered new Paradise Boards from Alfred and may need some powering for those.
To get a rough shot on your need for Prereg PCBs, please send me an Email or PM so that i can fill the following table:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eA-F1Z3nZYQPkwdGa0nRqHP2hrClLh4kcjPRQnRiodE/edit?usp=sharing
If there is enought interest, i'll talk to Peter and we start the official round of the group buy.
Note, that this time, it will only be the PCBs.
Price will most certainly be the same as the last time, which is 44€ per Stereoset + package and handling.
Cheers,
Walter

Hello,
I received the new transformers by Peter (thanks a lot) , better but not perfectly silent.
I think the rigid coupling to the board enhances the buzz.
So I insulated with neoprene and lead.
Now the buzz has been drastically reduced and I'm satisfied with the result.
I hope it is a useful idea.

whats about using these bobbins to decouple the sound/vibration/noise from the PCB?

It will help, I like them 🙂 but it is also smart to prevent the noise from entering the board in the first place. (like was shown before by guglielmope).
the bobbins are meant to put between the "Blocks" and the pcb...
Yes than you are trying to avoid putting noise into the board, that's good. I would get a few more and also use them to mount the board in the cabinet/case. Are you mounting the transformers on a 'vero-board' (or comparable) and then mount the 'vero-board' with the bobbins to the prereg board, or something else? Let us know 🙂
I want to screw the bobbins directly into the "Block" (they have M3 thread, so they should fit into the holes of the transformer.

Stupid me 🙂 I did not note the M3 corner-mounting-holes. That would definitely work. You can connect longer single strand wires to the transformer (say 3 cm) then mount the trafo with the wires sticking through the board. Next take a screwdriver and push the wires into a 'V' shaped bend below the transformer. Next solder the wires to the board (I think).
thats the idea 😉
Cool, I'm convinced, show us some pictures when done 🙂
