So I got a large amount of C3g tubes and Im looking for projects that fits this tube perfectly
So what can you really do with these tubes?
They are really great tubes, the curves look beautiful and the build quality is superb
I feel bad to let them waste away on a shelf
so enlighten me!

Well, you can send 4 of those for me , i never had one of those, and could include them in my next project🙂
1.) Phono

2.) First tube of two stage SE amplifier (triode strapped, 18mA CCS, two infra LED bias).
IMO, triode mode for preamplifier with great sound /for 2A3, 6S4S, 6AS7, 1625/... +Uplate = 200 V,...Iplate = 17 ma,...-Ugride = -3 v,....Rcathode = 180 ohm.
how about C3g driving a mosfet split load phase splitter, into a El84 PP ?

Dont waste them, I'll buy them all if you don't want them.
they where built specifically for the German post, they are special quality - 10,000 hour pentodes for use in AF and RF circuits. This is a very good preamp/riaa tube if you want minimum noise, best if you use them in triode mode. They where, when produced, not for sale to the general public.

Line-amp with Lundahl 1660 4:1 Output and TVC as Input.
In Triode-mode because "euro21" is right - in Pentode Ri is way to high.
Sound is fantastic.
For optical reasons😉 you can cut with a sharp knife or a very fine saw the alu-case and you will see the nice glow of the heaters.

Although I think those aluminum caps were there for a reason... to my ears C3G's sound better when properly warm.
I use them to drive the 6B4G in a Monkey amp (direct drive).
They sound great! 🙂

Yeah I was thinking about building a preamp of some kind
I dont need a Phono-preamp though 🙂
But maybe a single C3g with CCS would do the trick and maybe Ill buy a couple of lundahl 1660 to do some experiments with.
If you cut away the metal around the C3g it glows in a wonderful way

I thought ccs would not work with a pentode 😕 (because a pentode itself works like a ccs ?)
but maybe its different when triode wired ?

Yes I agree, it would be like a series coupling of two ccs's, but there are always someone who has tried it, Gary Pimm has done some testing of this, see:
