It's not pretty but theres how it turned out after ALOT of drilling: Enlarging holes - YouTube
I hope that you are going to do as good a job of cleaning all those aluminium shavings from the PCB and inside of your amp. If you don't you will find out what that big transformer can do when there are some filings stuck between component legs.😱

Why did you have to tell? It's such a spectacle... you will find out what that big transformer can do ...

Burning transformer - YouTube
The metalwork part is almost done, pretty much only the electronics part left.
Need to build a dc protect circuit, a softstart timer circuit for the transformer and wiring up the amps.
So its maybe another month worth of work left before its a usable amp.
This is how the chassi turned out, minus cleaning up pen parks and such:

Nice progress. If the transformer becomes a problem......we could change input transistors plus a few other things, let me know ...
Hi again.. Not really a problem but I would be very glad if this is possible... To use my 2*42va trannie for the SYMEF... Please when you have the time explain what need to be changed 🙂
Best Regards.....

I take a chance to "bump" this one..
All parts are in order. Need to know which parts that need to be changed to make å more "high power" SYMEF 🙂
How many of you have heard the SYMEF and would like to say something about the sound of it?
Sincerely
I'm almost there... My boards are almost completed. Will be able to comment soon...
Just down to the power mosfets and the air coil... Also heatsink...
Air coil 1uH is approx 16 turns 1mm enamel wire? Or did anyone buy an already made one?
Thanks

The output transistors are NOT mosfets!! They are bipolars.
If you put mosfets in there, the amp will not work.
Also you can omit the coil, it will not do any harm, and a good amp should not need it either.
That coil originates from the era where piezo tweeters were extremely common and used in almost all cheaper speakers on the market, and as you know, a pieze tweeter is effectively a capacitor.

Yeah, you're 100% right! It's just me and my half sleeping brain today... I'm working on three amps (ML-2, Telos 390 and Symef) and I'm mixing up things...
I'll bypass the coil for now and test everything
Ciao!

Hi Bambadoo, looking forward to your build. Speaker impedance is not guaranteed to behave. With only 2 pairs of plastic output devices, and without having protection, allow me to be shy 😉.
All parts ordered! Coming weeks will be hectic: 1x Mezmerize, 2x SYMEF, 2x O2 headphone amp. 😀
Looking forward too. Tell us more about the speakers you have available 😉
Thanks for Your answer...
But what is "perfect" size of tranny?
500va? 2*30vac ? or 2*33vac? or 2?35vac?
Best Regards...
Will order sooooooon..

They will all work wonderfully 😀
I don't know if this is teaser or not but they're progress!
Missing the transfo for now...
Ciao!
