8 channel amp based on the LM4780 ICs, but I am begining to think I should have gotten bigger toroidals, even though I haven't made anything yet.. lol

My towers still aren't finished... I kinda work in stages... work on something for a few months, then find something else....

I also have half a car amp... one day, maybe, it will be useable.. lol

I am building a SE 2A3

a PP EL84

A pair of monoblock SOZ's/powered off car batteries.

Rebuilding the chassis for my BOSOZ

Two country style wall shelves ( one for wife and one for mom)

Built in cases for my daughters room in an African Motif

Whew... I need a vacation.

Oh Building things! Sorry, I'm working on a analog meter power monitor and power switcher. But it's sporadic. Porjectus interruptus. At the rate assembling a working audio system is going it may be spring. I fried the woofers in one of my Prodigies last night. :bawling: So fixing that is the project first at hand. This evening I've been searching the archives and catalogs thinking of doing a dipole line array.

That's exactly what I've been wanting to do to take the midbass load off of my ESLs. I'm envisioning a stack of 15 or 16 drivers in the 4 or 5 inch range to run from about 70 Hz up to 300-400. All integrated into a nice column that contains the ESLs.

Have you checked out these little 3" Aurasound drivers?

SY: Are you speaking of your Acoustats and if so what size are they. Mine were 2+2, I think. Two tall, two wide. They were and loud and clean but I XOvered at 225 Hz. Did not image to my liking at all though.

I sit as close to the orchestra as I can. I like big music big. So I'm toying with the idea of selling the Prodigies and building a "full range dipolar line array." Would sure like to hear one first. I like my chamber music as exquisitely clean as it is through my ESLs.

Over the last day or so I built a 5 opamp cct that is 600Hz lpf -> full wave rect -> 1Hz lpf so I can use my multimeter on 2v DC range to measure AC millivolts. Playing around a lot measuring Thiele/Small parameters on cheap, crummy speakers.

As always, things that look simple are not.
