Four different Front Face Plate Design for "Spirit" Line

I note four different outer designs both of the CD-Player so as integrated/pre-amp and power amplifiers from the "Spirit" line
All outer designs are only available in black, but with the colors "gold" and "Silver for operating instructions knob and volume control knob so as the facing veneer for the CD-tray.
First outer design additional available completly in silver-grey also for operating instructions knob and volume control knob (nextel color - only limited edition for Germany). Another feature was present by the first design: the knob for the operating instructions was always black instead "gold" resp. "silver" as to see by the later designs. I prefer clearly the first design.

Hi.

I read this post and though that it wiould most likely be the best place to ask for a bit of advice regarding my DAC200 (second version).

When I bought the dac, it had all the coaxial sockets missing from the input side (I have no idea why).

If I replace the RCA sockets, I assume that the postitives would connect to the small pieces if wire that you can see in the picture, but where do the negatives connect to?, the flat square in front?

It may sound obvious to those who know, but I just don't want to risk doing damage in such a sensetive area.

Also, just a simple question regarding the balanced output. Why on earth did Thule decide to put a balanced output on both the dac and the player, but not include an input on the dac?

It just seemed odd.

Many thanks for any help you can give me on the RCA's.

The balanced connector has three pins: positive, negative and GND/Earth.
The RCA/Chinch connector has only two; thus one PIN is not connected, if you want to replace a Cannon/XLR connector through cinch socked. Mostly the negative PIN is not connected - but which is not absolutely necessary. I. e., you can also use the negative instead the positive output (but always on both channels).
The reason for the not intended AES/EBU SPDIF digital input by this DAC (like used by several older Cambridge Audio CD Players like DiscMagic) I don't know.

Thank you for your help, but I only want to replace the RCA connectors that have been removed, not to change them to balanced connectors.

I just don't know where either the positive and negative part of the RCA plug are supposed to connect to, on the circuit board, within the dac itself.
