Already using an SB3 which I've heavily modded. That runs into my Audio Aero. Just fancied a touch and @ £135 it would have been a bargain!
How is the audio aero coming along? Any mods done? I have an audio aero ampaa
I tried them both (modded x2 and sb duet via direct i2s) and the sb is in a different league. I am using a synchronized clock, meaning 1 masterclock for sb and dac, similar to what ecdesigns is using. It's just very very good.
£65 ok for a used Logitech SB classic?
And is there any difference between the SD Classic and the Logitech Classic?
I guess slimdevices got bought by logitech but is there any difference besides the logo?
That's good, how does it behave with a comparative load same as the 7220?
Haven't tried 27ohms yet.
Todays labour.

Just tried it with 51R, approx. 100mA, same voltage as w 100R, 4,73Vdc.

5.73v or 4.73?!!!!
sb classic is fairly limited now unfortunately. It's ok if you use the right firmware and you are using it as a LAN based player. Some of the nice functions like spotify are only available on the sb3 and then the hd audio available on the touch. My sb3 is in a pretty high state of tune but I still fancied a touch. The ones that were on amazon yesterday for £135 are already on eBay for £180 today! Madness, if i'd have completed checkout instead of going for myy tea and leaving my basket on screen i' have one! Or could have got 4, sold 3 and had mine for free!!! You snooze you loose!!! ;-)

Oups, that's supposed to be 4,73Vdc
Thought the SB classic(wich is supposed to be a SB V3 renamed by logitech), would do nicely as a way to get the sound from my PC to the not yet finished TDA1541A DAC. And at just about £6
I am boxing the sb mainboard and my tda1541 into the same enclosure... Ethernet input at the back, nice status led at the front, control via iphone and ipad...
Tadaaaa... Homebrew high end media player!
Nice way to do it!!
I'm thinking of using a dead Xbox360 as enclosure for the DAC.
BTW, what can cause a very low "ticking" between songs on a SB Classic?
its just the clock running
or is it a

Nah, don't think it's anything major. Sure it can be fixed if it's annoying enough.
tick tok tick tok (hic) tik tok!!!!
Did it go boom yet?
Nope, I haven't even gotten it yet.
The previous owner informed me about the subtle ticking between tracks.
Read about a similar phenomena from another device, in that case it was some muting relay.
I have the 11.x MHz xtal replaced with a stable master clock which is also use in the dac. Also I use direct i2s out from sb to dac. Next on the list is to replace the onboard regs with salas shunt types.
So pretty modded...
