Salas hotrodded blue DCB1 build

maybe this is a st@p$d question, but if this is the hotrodded version, than what is the original and where can i find it?

Not stupid.
The hot-rodded version is evolution of the original, but not all that different.
The original circuit can still be had with the Mezmerize available at the Diyaudio store.

What happens if you swap channels?

Thanks for the advice. After i swapped channels.. that was when i realized something was amiss. After swapping in different preamps and sources, i found out it was actually the amp with a dead channel

It must have gone dead when i unplugged the right DCB1 channel live and heard the boom sound.. Was fine before that. Not too sure what to do now

Now we know. Sorry about your amp. Never change plugs live, its a classic trap. Is it under warranty?

Thankfully it is. I'm hoping it was the protection circuits kicking in and shutting down that channel, and no permanent damage was done. I'm really glad that i finally found the true cause of the problem though

I plan to use 2 of these to switch outputs as well as ins, to feed different amps conveniently. Any issue with switching outs while the unit is operating?

done some upgrades ..

mills 9.1R, tx2575 220R and put it in a case ..

one led tripled (irfp 9240 side) dont work and the 9.1R Mills run extremely hot ....

Look for insulation problems or shorts.

P.S. Check Vgs on all Mosfets. The CCS one could be dead already or not, but see for the reason. If not apparent, maybe static when reworked and handled the board.

build 4 allready, never had any issues except this one ....

but I must admit , the black one is ...


this khozmo pot is very well build, I just hope it sounds as goog as it looks...

dont know if its the khozmo or the naked foil 220R's (probably both), but it is certainly better than the 3 previous dcb1 I have build and heard (including a non hotrod version) ....
