PCB order for Goldmun clone

Things were very clear from the beginning: -----------

People who want a no risk board seems a better idea to wait for a next GB when the boards are tested.

People involved in this development ----------

then it would have been more fair to limit the GB to say 50 boards 😉

and call it proto type test GB

if you had done it properly from beginning, the way suggested, then we wouldnt have this kind of trouble
I doubt anyone would have argued then

fact is, there have been way too many wild and loose promises of gold and glitter, and quite the contrary of what you claim
whats it called in english ? the stuff that dreams are made of

if you care, do whats right, and not just what suits yourself
I think its what you would call responsibility

here the word is, hey, you knew the risk
I can only ask myself, where will people be when it begins to hurt
running like hell ?

my sincerest personal opinion

I've used express pcb to make some simple boards that are nowhere near as busy as this board. I have never gotten it right the first time. My question is "Why not prototype?" I wouldn't mind paying a little more to have a board that someone was able to get working even if minor mods had to be made.

well, you know what is considered good practice around here
if you are new and dont know, just look around, or ask
and may I remind you, you are using this forum and its members
what does that mean ?
It means that.....hell, I dont know, Im tired of talking, figure it yourself 😀 🙂

Development&Share vs Shared Development

then it would have been more fair to limit the GB to say 50 boards 😉

I agree with you about the name of the thread and the need to warning about this is not a tested design.

Development and share
Somebody spends time, efforts, money in expensive PCB, tests it, then maybe redesign, rebuild and retest. At the end, shares a full working design with others.
This takes a long time, and sometimes is frustrating for who does all the job. Some times results are never shared because the designer desists or a lot of other reasons.

Shared development
Several people develop something together. They have to spend less time, less money and less effort. Redesign, rebuild an retest is cheaper. In the end a full working design is shared.
This takes shorter time. Results are better because more solutions and more different tests can be done. Also more design iterations can be done before arriving to a full working design. Results are always shared, if somebody desists others will finish.

Choosing one model or other is maybe the difference from a lot of commercial products and few diy, or the opposite.

This is only my modest opinion, nobody have the absolute truth. Remember: “Listen all opinions but never let others think for you”

IF one interested member of this board would volunteer, THOSE that want to know IF the design is viable, could donate a buck or two toward having a PCB house build a pair or 2. That way all concerned would KNOW which direction to take. And NO I do not have any interest in doing so, my intrinsic bias would preclude fairness. The layouts are there, and I think in a week or so 4 boards could be manufactured by one of the MANY advertisers of this forum for 50 bucks or so. I am inclined to believe that SOMEONE may have already initiated this train of thought, and may be in the process of doing as we speak.

I hope for EVERYONE'S sake something POSITIVE will be done and SOON😉

Together with a friend of mine (he construct preamplifiers and amplifiers for the commersial marked in Norway (Audio Innovation) we have been in touch with Alex and got his permission to use his files to produce and ech one board. It all depends on that we do succed in converting Alex files into Gerber files. Gerber is not "my coup of thee" so please give me (us) a couple of days for a feedback on PCB.
If everything goes well I will populate and solder the boards. My friend will take care of evaluations and testings.
I hope that with this initiative we can put some "life" in this thread again.

So in a couple of weeks....?

Of course, Nagys. But what about stop judging and start building?
Unfortunately, I can't get most of the necessary parts right now. Otherwise I would have made my own prototype by now.
We continue waiting for your results and impressions.
Regards,
Max.

Never heard of.....

Jacco

This a bit off topic, but

Jacco, I'm not surprised you've never heard of Musical Innovation or its owner, Roar Malmin.
On the elekrtoniske world map, Norway is a small country, although probably some hifi enthusiasts know the names Tandberg (closed many years ago), Electrocompaniet and SEAS. The founder of EC Per Abrehamsen now runs his own company with the brand name Abrehamsen Audio. But we have several small businesses, such as Roar, who produces high-end equipment that gets very good marks in Scandinavia. In this context, I also mention Helge Lauvland / Doxa.
Products from Musical Innovation has been tested in the Norwegian hi-fi magazine "Fidelety" and been very appreciative reviewed (tests based only on listening impressions.

By the way, this show "The very best ....) seems to go on in one way or another. Both Nagys and Bigpanda now have their own agenda. "The very best...." is no longer 9.2 but Goldmund Mimesis 3!!!????
