what project is that going into? the DAC, or a new jfet-zen preamp
If the dac makes that much heat, that would be new to me. That is definitely for an amp. A couple of those and you can make all sorts of nice class A goodies.
Well...
.......
Fine print: contest open to everyone except ZM, who
already got his prize 🙂
why ....... oh why ??

everybody knows that ZM is greediest of all spoiled brats

why ....... oh why ?
Old Chi-cheese saying : After dump, one can look straight up A of cow.
What does the LED in the Aleph 4 indicate ?. Is it simply POWER or does it indicate CLIPPING ?

Arrgh! Thanks Nelson
The pressure builds! 😱
He's off the hook, but now I'm on it!
I have a feeling that Papa has another classic on his hands here.
Maybe the DAC manufacturer didn't appreciate the original but we will.
And a circuit board is hardly necessary.
We need to have more "contests" like this.

Thanks very much - sounds good (so to speak).
I still can't manage to subscribe to Jan's new hard copy magazine, but then me and paypal never did get along.
PS. Nelson, speaking of bracing sea air, my brother lives down the coast a little bit at Muir Beach, and I get to visit him and get braced myself from time to time.

I just read the I/V article and found it informative and interesting. I'm left with a simple question: How do I apply this device to a CD player?
I just ....... ?
same as D1
easy peasy
it's harder to make those Fugly! wooden cases
Is "direct out" available as a port, or do we have to dive inside the chassis? I can't believe the engineers didn't take Nelson seriously--my god, we could have been listening to pure silk a decade ago.
