DIY progress report

Seems the IRF240 for example and the 2SK82 is not that different, the MOSFET can handle more current than the VFET, but Pd is quite similar (VFET at 95W vs MOSFET at 125W).
So that Sony VFET pair ain't wimps either.
Ergo some quite sturdy power amps should be possible with a few VFETs.
But of course the design should be bullet proof with belts and suspenders, as replacements for a wrecked amp might not be available in 2012 or so!
(Or can someone persuade these southern men to make p-channels as well?)

Heard an OB for the first time a couple of weekends ago. It was a 12" 100+ db P-Audio driver with 4" concentric tweeter; driven by my F5 and BOSOZ. I was surprised by the low end and how tight it was.

Looking forward to seeing what you have up your sleeve, Mr Pass. 🙂
