ok here are some more pictures to help clarify the space.. this is the left side of the boat on a 24ft supra wakeboard boat.. as you can see with the subs it is to the nutz 10" high.. I might have a little more depth but it'd be tough with the lip.. Also note the little seat area removes I just haven't unscrewed it but that is part of the 55" of length that I am talking about..

theres no way to utilize that area where it expands to 21" wide near the far left side of the picture.. Not sure exactly what we can or can't do with these things so?? I attached the picture again with a circle and an arrow to the area where technically there is a 1 inch drop down back where the ballasts are and I would have another 12" of length that we could play with ?? just a thougth

JBell
Your model in 2Pi or 4Pi?
Also notice a third single 10".
Can the space it resides in and the distance between be used also?

I am looking to remove the third 10" and I cannot use the space between there .. This is the engine compartment..
jbell I got an idea.. What if we flip the box upside down and the seat on the right actually hinges up.. I could put a grate there and that would significantly open up the mouth size
trying to extend a tapped horn usually ends up messing things up. Also if it is too long, you end up putting the 'response hump' below the 50-60hz range that you really need.
I'd build the simple one if I were you.
The only way to significantly increase the 'mouth' area, would be to orient your 10's ninety degrees to the original proposal. (cone vertical facing the rear of the boat) However, since you have 10" only in height, and 10" tall drivers, that complicates that kind of cabinet, which is why I didn't suggest it.
Do yourself a favor, build the simple 50" long cabinet, sit it on the floor of your boat in front of the seat area, hook it up, and decide if it does what you need. If it doesn't, then we can arm-chair quarterback a sub cabinet some more, and see what else can be done.

Don't be surprised if you get shot at from the tax paying lakefront residents.
Or ticketed for noise disturbance by the sheriff like I did. Apparently the same rules apply for boats as cars.

the box building begins
well I tested the old box and got 118 max spl after some tweaking or I shud say charging of the batteries in the boat.. time for the new box... I have it about 80% done but need help with the following question: shud i fire the subs with the port in the lower right corner or flip upside down and have upper right corner with additioal port space available via the flip up seat? Please post insight on this subject thanks for everyones help so far.. Here are the pictures to try and make the visual easier

I vote for picture 3, oriented as shown with just a 7-8x15 side vent, nothing else. Nice clean install, should look good, as well as sound good.

#3 it is.. Now quick question for you and neo dan, jbell. I just sold off my kickers I had.. What 10" sub would you recommend for this enclosure? If you can check my other post and let me know if it would work.. Thanks a ton !!!!
arrrghh!!
tapped horns and their drivers are a very specific match. A lot of car subs don't work well in tapped horns, so it'll take some trial/error to find a good one. It kind of surprised me that the kicker worked as well as it did.
JBL GTO is one I've modeled in the past, let me look....

hmm tough one.. I mean I guess I could afford them.. $120 a sub would be a better price tho lol.. any other ideas? or my other question is any other sub that I could use in my titan 48 enclosure.. I put my 2 other kickers I had in the boat in this enclosure.. Tested this morning and hit a 125.2 figured not bad for 600 watts.. I would be willing to put a different sub or subs in the titan so that I could use the kickers in there original intended box for round 1..
Titan 48" Huh?
I think you need to explain the situation in more detail.
Like starting with did you finish jbell's box and test with the kickers?
What do you need from that point louder, Lower?

lol.. ok i will type slower.. I had a titan 48 I built just for fun before I saw this website and I had a 2226 jbl in it.. blew that woofer this week at a party in which i musta got carried away with to much power from my QSC 2450 so I blew the JBL.. so then i ripped out my 10 inch kickers from my boat made a new plate and slapped those babies in the titan just for something to listen to while I started built jbell's box which is 80% done.. then i realized the 10's kinda sounded good so I was gonna switch subs for the boat but lets stick with the plan try the kickers and then change up from there if need be.
