Absolutely, i keep forgetting that i have a 3-phase 380V whatyamacallit thingus in the workshop.

Hi.Anyone tried 2sk1529/2sj200.My friend tried these transistors and he says it sounds wonderful!

Aren't these mosfets whose P and N curves perfectly overlap?
J201/K1530, J200/K1529 are the 120W versions, much smaller package.

As many of you know, the F5 power amplifier design is done
Here's a copy of the simplified circuit.
yes, a copy, litteraly...
no doubt the design is done...since the late 70 s....lol..
You are free to use amps from that time, enjoy...![]()
the F5 bring absolutely nothing new compared to the original designs...
all that was made was to replace Hitachi devices with IR ones...
what is odd, is that even today, the 2SJ50/2SK135 devices (now
2SJ162/2SK1058) that where used at the time are better than
the hexfet, though in class A, they are enough...
i must aknowledge that we all use topologies that were brought by
others, but in this case, it make we wonder why an old schematic that
was branded as bringing no advantages is now looked as the holy grail once mr Pass explored it...hope he did at least aknowledge his inspirations..

wahab

Now my friend wahab, NelsonPass doesnt use Hitachi devices at all...thats a doing by us members in here
I dont know exactly, but I understand there are several tricks involved that are not easily apparent to the not skilled, like you and me...reversed devices, slightly different connections here and there
From tubeamps we know that just placing a resistor differently makes the whole curcuit work completely different
Mind you, its not like anyone claimed to have invented SS devices
But this curcuit is made to make you and me happy
If you dont like it or want it, just find another one to build, theres plenty around

Usually it's not the omelet but the seasoning and how it is served that labels it as innovative.
3de Nederlander
Hi Guys,
As I state above I'm the third Dutch guy that reply's.
It's not what you do it's the way that you do it!
Nelson Pass is (IMHO) the one and only, regarding Fet amps.
Just my
Best regards,
Audiofanatic 😉

NP is the man that explained to me the F5 schematic and provided guidance and support to others that I respect in a public forum. It is his amp.
Probably one of the few that read the F5 thread 2X, I don't remember hearing the words Holy Grail. It's a really, really good HiFi amp though.

I'm pretty sure that Papa is ROFL each time reading accusations like these ;
it's just bloody boring to write why I'm sure about that .
anyway
nobody called Charlie Parker a Copy Cat , even if he use same notes , instrument , even numerous jazz standards , as every other average Sax player ...... that's Jazz .
and yes - Papamps are delicious Jazz , whatever that means .

No, that's the J2. 🙂
i can only aknowledge that a technical debate is powerless when
confronting religious beliefs...
but as a clue, just check Selectronic s TRIPHON...
at the time, none supported so eagerly their design....
most here did perhaps even found it lacking...
so it seems that a design is not that important for many people who
rather than sticking about what is told, rely on WHO told it...

Profet is well known here on Diyaudio ;
look at first page of thread , it's told to NP , and what was conclusion of some of us , including NP .
and yes - there is always difference who is saying something ; that's called fame , renome etc.
anyway - there is significant difference between Profet and F5 , believe it or not .
