Unlike other threads that have been started here there is no indication which is real and which is fake. Some are obvious granted but what about the ones not broken open?

Isn't that all fakes? Buying MT-100 (T0P-3) version is safer than MT-200

So the original Sankens have the double thickness headers. Then one could probably notch thru the topside to check without destroying??

Yes but that wouldn't make much difference. You still can't see the die.

Well, one thing is for sure, because of fakes, now people don't trust almost anyone, even those who sells genuine parts. Goddamn paranoia.

Well... There is the capacitance meter which gives good correalation to die size too. I really doubt if the cheaters are going to adopt the more expensive 2x header package near term.
