Sound review

Now after ~150 hrs. burn in time, i will share my impressions with these outstanding caps.

I had a déjà vu after changing from my previous Mundorf Suprem silver/gold/oil caps to the Duelund CAST PIO Copper.
The same difference as in my 300B mono block´s.

This openness, clarity, three-dimensionality with so many more subtleties and micro informations, absolute breathtaking.
Only the Duelund CAST has the possibility to reproduce this 3D soundstage

The evolution brings the following changes:

- Anode PSU with Salas SSHV Shunt Reg. onboard
- External B+ Input for usage with other Anode PSU
- Heater PSU with C-R-C filtering
- Heater PSU with Softstart circuit
- Heater PSU Power LED

Thanks to John (-ecdesigns-) for the following suggestions!

- Grid stoppers to prevent unwanted oscillations
- Bias current injection for TDA1541A usage
- Pull-down resistors to keep the coupling cap output at GND-potential

Still on the Module:

- Heater switch for 6N2P or 12AX7 usage

An example for a balanced use (e.g. Bufalo II), you could see HERE.

The PCB has the following data:

Material: FR4 - 2mm
Layers: 2

Updated 26th March 2013 at 05:27 PM by dvb-projekt

Well my friends it is time again to say thanks to all of you, who like and ordered my pcb´s.

Because i am no developer of electronic circuits but have the knowledge to design pcb´s,
i wanted to give something back to the community.

Since i started with my 1st pcb, the Optical-Volume-Control on 15th October 2009,
a small donation from every sold pcb goes to diyaudio.com

Today i am proud to say that your cumulated donation achieve

$ 3104

Keep on having fun with my pcb´s and best regards

The best sounding I/V resistor

Posted 3rd March 2013 at 09:22 AM by dvb-projekt
Updated 3rd March 2013 at 03:17 PM by dvb-projekt

As many of you know, i am using the Texas Components TX2575 Bulk Z-Foil resistor for a long time
in important circuit positions, especially as I/V resistor.

Recently i stumbled over a short recommendation from Thorsten Loesch.

In susequent builds I compared to Rohpoint (which I have used extensively and found no reason to handwind resistors.

In my commercial designs we use a specfic type of SMD resistors after auditioning tons.
Some SMD resistors are really bad, some are so-so and some are most excellent, though no patch for a Rohpoint Squaristor GR102.

Ciao T

Because i know Thorsten as a man who had the perfect sound in mind,
i ordered one pair 30R to try them in my Tube-I-zator.
