Hello to all,

First i would like to thank subbu, jean paul, korben and to all who made this possibl. Korben who assembled my dac for me and did an amazing job.

I was in a hurry to hear what this dac can do so i slapped it in a cigar box. This dac is amazing. First i noticed is how wide and deep sounstage. Very good bass. All in all a musically satisfying dac. I have about an hour or 2 on it so far. I have an audio note dac to compare and I will report back once it had settled in. :):)

Thanks everyone

Wow what heck are those cable thingys?

Arghhhh almost all french can't speak french because of TV and Bolywood movies and street language. "Give me five!". "Five what ? Baguettes ?!".

An old elegant lady would say Subbu (don't find a word in english to give you the french 'u'... it's not the "u" of suburb than we prounounce 'eu' like in Peufeu fellow eg.) : that's the phonetic rules. And younger frenchs will say automaticly "ou" for Subbu because they went to India or England/America. For me when I talk in family with the DAC i say "ou" of "you".

Saved.... we are just 66 millions frenches ! I just read in Le Monde newspaper than 25% of americans doesn't know that our planet turn around the Sun... and they just invite at the White House the one in France which didn't know too !

oups I break the moods rules. I stop !

Soobidoobidoooooooo !

That is nice to hear. Please build another one according the BOM (+ 1 µF ceramic for C17 + a Panasonic SEPC 470 µF for C22 + a Wima 1 µF MKS2 for the charge pump ) just for comparison if you want to squeeze max performance out of it. Subbu opened a drawer and found a forgotten secret stash of PCBs so you can build a new one.

Yes, some are available again. There is no excuse anymore for the unsure DIYers to need to hear yet another positive verdict before they possibly might decide to maybe think about the possibility to build one if people are positive and ....

This is the last call for our last V3 boards ! Please contact Subbu if you want a set of V3 and PSU PCBs.

Holy crap that cabling looks, extreme. What is that? Even a old electrician like me can be confused. :D

Wow what heck are those cable thingys?[OTE]

The cables were made by our fellow member "Z audio". These are the best cables I've heard in my system. They trumped my stealth audio IC and my dave's cables DD IC.

Sorry to be off topic

If its okay with the authors of the thread i would like to hear more about these cables and more detailed images, or even better ask him kindly if he wants to make a thread about them :)

Hi Fellas,

Just wanted to give an update on how the subbu V3 sounds after 10 hours of continuous play time. It sounds AMAZINGLY GOOD and also musically involving. It It nails all the audiophile cliche and I think it sounds better than most kilobuck DACs available in the market. ( I have not heard a lot but heard a few at audio salons but not in my system so take my word with a grain of salt).

The subbu V3 does not sound digital or analog, it has it's own character which I cannot put a word on (maybe clean but not sterile with good tonality).... It is musical in a sense that it conveys the meaning of the music very well.

Compared to my modded AN DAC 5, the DAC 5 is much more musical! (more emotional connection).Considering the price difference and time to tweak the dac 5 to where I want it to be. The subbu V3 is SPECIAL. Great Job Subbu and all the folks who were involved in making something special.

I hope I will not be out of topic. Since our friends asked about the Z audio cables, I asked my good friend Igor Paljar to elaborate further about his cable designs and he will chime in soon or maybe start his own thread. He builds each spiders for 60 hours. If I can describe the Z audio Spiders in one word is that they are " ALIVE ". Harmonics, timbre, rhythm, attack and tone are perfect. So real sounding....

Here are some pics along with the subbu V3 playing music...
