eboz,

If you get ready to try a pre-order let me know. I've got some friends who build DIY stuff all the time and are always on the lookout for high-quality chassis. Honestly, I've tried to buy from you before but I never seem to hit a time when you've got what I want in stock. :(

Nate

P.s. I sent you an email through your website this morning. :)

I am considering the DIY-0610 case and would like to know if it is possibly to buy two of the 2mm 'top panels' instead of one and if yes- can the 'top panel' be used on the bottom as well to further strengthen the case?

Thanks

Yes we could do that, but it would be nice if I could keep the extra bottom panel if you aren't going to be using it. Otherwise I just have an incomplete chassis on hand... I would quote you using PayPal and charge $5 for the "upgrade." And yes, you can certainly use these 2mm panels for both the top or bottom panels.

Holiday Sale!

Now through December I will have the following sale on DIY-1712 and DIY-0908 chassis:

The preamp-style face panels (with two knobs included) can be purchased at no additional cost. These are normally $30 extra.
The knobs themselves are worth $20ea, so you really are getting over $40 worth of product for free! :D

These prices are reflected now on the DIY Enclosures website. The ordering process is secured with SSL and your credentials will be encrypted before they are transmitted and processed. Or if you prefer, you can contact me at mwoods@diyenclosures.com to process with PayPal instead. 3% PayPal fee will be added. Ground methods take longer to process, so please choose a priority or express service if you need next day delivery.

All variations of the DIY-0908 chassis are still in stock.

There are some limitations for the DIY-1712. I do not have the black ventilated version is stock any longer. You can either get the blank top panels, or go for the silver version.

If you were not already aware: I am selling off all remaining stock. When the stock is mostly sold off, I will begin production again. This time though, DIY Enclosures will be distributed via. partsconnexion.com or another audio boutique parts shop.

Here are some images of the preamp-style face panels and the matching knobs:

PS. When using these panels with the silkscreen, I first recommended using a sugar cube to remove them. That is no longer the best method. By far the best way to go, is to use 100% acetone. This can be purchased at the grocery store in the cosmetics section as "nail polish remover." Look for the contents on them and you will find some that are 100% acetone.

Expiring SSL Cert

My SSL certificate for e-commerce orders is going to expire on the 16th. :dead: I've done my best to contact support so that I can get a new cert ordered, but they are not responding because of the holiday. :( I'm afraid it will expire before I can get it renewed, so I wanted to warn everyone. You can still safely make orders at the diyenclosures.com site, but your browser will warn you that the cert is expired. If in doubt, please just email me your order and I will send you a PayPal invoice. Thanks and I am sorry about the site. :bawling:

WHOO!! Got the new SSL cert installed, so it's good now until 2009! :D I need to get the eTrust badge up there and change when it switches over to a secure site. I can assure everyone that no CC info is sent unencrypted - I've been asked a few times. If you are ever in doubt, the entire site can be browsed using https at any point in the url instead.

Wooo!

I'm definitely interested in the 1712HS when you next decide to order a bulk of them in, especially as I've just put an order for a standard 1712 with preamp plate, on your site.

Its just a shame I have such poor metal work facilities that I had to buy the silver version as I'd have prefered an all black case with polished knobs! mmmmmmm...... :D

Cheers and heres hoping it arrives soon.

Thanks again,

Nick.

Nick,

Why can't you go with all black and polished knobs?? The DIY-1712 black body, black preamp face, blank black top, IEC rear panel is available... If you want that instead, just place another order and I will consider the previous one canceled.

white case / black case.

eboz

The reason being, my metalwork skills are poor (and i cant find a company willing to do the work for me).

that means any rip-out on the holes cut for the tubes on the top of my amp would be unsightly white scratches on the black sheet, at least with the natural colour this effect is mitigated.

If anyone feels this wouldnt happen then say so nd I'll change the order.

Nick.
