Is this a group buy, or just to prove interest so we can make a regular offering?
Both.
This should be the standard case size IMO.
It will cover every firstwatt amp and give you adequate space to install everything you might want without compromises, compared with a 400mm case.

Ok, I’d just need price before I can commit to a group buy. I’d definitely be interested in the form factor, but whether I can swing it now or later is tbd.

Our idea was to offer this through the store as if it was a standard product. With a single 6 meters long bar (which is the one we buy from our supplier) we can produce enough heatsinks for 8 chassis which could be a good starting point.
If we see there is enough interest, we can keep producing these even for bigger quantities and always have them in stock. I am going to talk about this with Jason and see what he thinks about this too.
Price is being calculated, we should have it available tomorrow.
Here is a 4U 505mm chassis. With 5pc 4U 300mm sinks.
Of course not store bought chassis. front panel and sinks from modushop.
The chassis houses 5ch honey badger.

I like the idea of a 4U, 500mm deep chassis. I have a set of boards to build a SIT-3X, and am having a hard time getting those to fit with the chassis that I was hoping to use.

Another 2, and it's certainly game on.
Just a thought.
One other thing people might be interested in, would be steel transformer cans/boxes/cases for magnetic shielding purposes.
Probably only need 2 sizes, one for a 140mm diameter (and under) transformer, and one for a 175mm diameter (and under) transformer.
Maybe something for the future depending on interest.

That’s a nice looking build! I really like the footprint of a 4U/500.
thx 🙂
What size chassis did you want to use?I like the idea of a 4U, 500mm deep chassis. I have a set of boards to build a SIT-3X, and am having a hard time getting those to fit with the chassis that I was hoping to use.
^ I was trying to use a chassis that was effectively 3.5U, 400mm deep. I've posted pictures of its twin in a couple threads, including the SIT-3X. It needs augmentation to support the power dissipation, but I'm still using it for my Singing Bush build, until I prove to myself that it won't work.
I'm in for the 4U 500mm chassis. I have a shielded 500VA ANTEK for an F6 build and need the space. Thanks for the invite. HeyBill
