Oooo yesss! I can't commit to participating in this GB right now, but when I get to the Aleph J on my DIY project list I'd definitely prefer a 4U 500mm chassis over the other current offerings in the DIY Audio store.
The biggest case Modushop does is 5U x 500mm but it doesn't have the predrilled and tapped holes.
So this 4U x 500 will be UMS drilled and tapped?
Ok. Game on.
Gianluca, that's enough to get the ball rolling. By the time it's all ready it will easily be 8 people.
Please make sure heatsinks have UMS holes predrilled and tapped.
It might even be a good idea to add an additional set of holes either side so boards can be offset one position - if desired. This is actually important for F6 so mosfets mount symmetricaly on heatsink.
I can draw it if necessary.
It would also allow longer boards to be mounted for future designs etc.

How much? Will the back panel have large holes for the RCAs or the smaller ones? Sorry if already posted, haven’t had a chance to properly read the thread
I think standard is Neutrik RCAs.
I much prefer the build quality of those over other types.
I'm pretty sure front and back panels can be custom designed for only a small additional fee.
Price is being worked out.

Hopefully Gianluca can do a discounted price as a kind gesture to those who were fhe first 8 to jump on board to get this going.

I haven’t tried those since I’ve always bought Cardas RCAs for my build. You can count me in as i’ll deal w specifics once that time comes. I want to stash this away for when the vfet kit comes out.
HAHA
Please PM once this all goes down. Baby is due soon so my mind is all over the place at the moment

I have been toying with a "single chassis" to roll them all but I wasn't crazy about the form factor of 5U/400 so the 4U/500 might be just the ticket. Who is going to volunteer to explain to my good wife why I need another amp 😉 ..dB
edit - add me to the list , if cost is reasonable, I would take one

One of your friends decided he didn't need it anymore and wanted you to have it at a very good price.
Alternatively you could hide the old one or sell it.

Great idea, this 4U 500.
It's a must, it'll be mine for future amps.
Thanks for the development.

I had already calculated the price this morning but if we want to add UMS heatsinks it will be more expensive. Keep in mind the chassis is going to have 4 drilled heatsinks and not 2 like the original Deluxe 4U chassis.
