about the mosfets, again

I know your suggestion works, as do the other...

Excuse my stubbornness, but I'm trying to better understand the matter.

tvicol also kindly explained (shorted down):
Very important, Rdson must be as low as possible at 10V. Best under 10mohm.
Very important, Qg Gate Charge Total at 10V as low as possible.

SUP70060E has better Qg Gate Charge Total, but
IPP029N06NAKSA1 has better Rdson

Would you still select SUP70060E? (is Qg Gate Charge Total more important)

Many thanks
david

Vds is only 60v for the ipp part.
Selection depends on 4 things
Vds,
Vgsth
Qg
Rdson
Cost
Availability
Not in any order of importance.
Tvicol has posted some guidelines towards the beginning.
Take a good look at different mosfets.
Rdson makes a difference on how much heat is generated.
Qg is critical for working.
Vds for higher magin of safety.
Go through the datasheet to better understand and for some calculations

Has anyone ordered the Compact CRC PSU from PCBWay and used the THT version LT4320 based active rectifier in place of the standard bridge rectifier with it?

Does this wiring look right?

Any considerations when doing so?

Hi Dave,
Just connect the V+ and V- of the LT4320 tht to the CRC .
You can connect the transformer secondaries to THT LT4320 directly.

If you are planning to use the snubber components, provision is already made for SMD snubbers under the THT LT4320 under AC tabs.

Though what you have shown seems to be correct, but leads to too much wiring.

Doh, Like this?

I thought the jury decided not to use snubbers?

Thanks mpa.

To others,
unfortunately I have run out of THT rectifier boards (consider yourself lucky , if you find some extra boards in your packet, a christmas gift).

SO wont be able to ship any new payments made today onwards until a month.
So members "flamethrower1" and "powersuppe" will have to wait for a month.
I will have plenty of stock after a month.

plenty of smd's and a few crc-lt4320 to go around.

regards
prasi
